Siam Pacific Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. AP-FIG(8) Cable This cable is designed for use in subscribers distribution or junction network. It features excellent blocking performance for aerial installation by attachment to a support strand. FIGURE 8 POLYETHYLENE INSULATED ALPETH SHEATHED CABLE (AP-FIG(8)) Color Coding Cable Formation Core Covering Shield and Messenger Wire. Solid annealed copper wire, in sizes 0.4, 0.5, 0.65, or 0.9 mm. Polyethylene. Full color coding. The insulated conductors are twisted into pairs. The pairs are stranded into units (subunits). The unit are assembled together to form a cable core. Unit construction for cables more than 25 pairs and concentric for cables up to 25 pairs. Non-hygroscopic tape (mylar tape). The corrugated copolymer coated aluminum tape is longitudinally folded around the cable core and laid on with overlap. During extrusion of polyethylene outer sheath, the copolymer coating firmly bonds screen and sheath together producing an impervious moisture barrier around the cable core. 7/2.03 mm extra-high strength galvanized steel wire strands.
