As the much anticipated showtime arrives, the audience learns a bit about hypnosis, they try a few suggestibility tests and then the stage is opened for volunteers. You notice right away that C.J. has stepped off to the side and immediately you know why...the stage is rushed with volunteers!! The chairs on stage are filled and the show is on. You hold on for the ride as you realize your best friend is on the stage. It only takes a couple of minutes for those on stage to go from won dering what s going to happen to not having any cares at all! The audience follows along with amazement, and yes, sometimes skep ticism, as the volunteers begin to drop their chins to their chest or rest their heads on the shoulder next to them. They try to open their eyes, but cannot that is until C.J. tells them to. The hilarity begins as the volunteers begin to take C.J. s suggestions. One guy believes he s the Crocodile Hunter and wrestles with an inflatable pool toy he truly believes is an actual croc! The whole group is transported back in time to the era of disco. They become part of TV shows and movies, complete with body building championships and much, much more. One girl even forgets her own name. This has GOT to be a bunch of bull... but wait!! The girl who forgot her name is your best friend! The hardest decision you ll have to make is not whether to bring CJ Johnson to your event, but will you watch the show... or STAR in it.
Who is this guy? C.J. Johnson was raised by a salesman. He grew up in sales meetings, diverse people in the world... land men. People with a penchant for big jewelry and white shoes. Fortunately, C.J. wears neither. In the time between birth and 8th grade C.J. and his Mom made 17 major moves to locations in 10 states. In 8th grade C.J. settled the pace a little and attended the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas until graduation. He paid his own way through private school by making macramé in his garage (Hey, it was the 70 s). He attended Texas A&M University on a Marine Corps ROTC scholarship, helicopters because of his eyesight. He paid for the rest of college by delivering hamburgers on a motorcycle. That was his last real job. In 1986 C.J. auditioned for the Ringling Brothers Clown College. Scott Linker, one of the Ringling clowns at the audition, suggested that C.J. get more experience in front of an audience, and that s what he s been doing ever since. As a result of that advice C.J. is well versed in many areas of variety entertainment including magic, sleight of hand, juggling, stand up comedy, unicycling, grand illusions, illusion building and design, and, of course, hypnosis. He s won awards not only as a hypnotist but also for his comedy magic & original illusion designs. On a personal level, C.J. is the father of three boys (even though he s often told he s still a kid himself), a husband, a big fan of video games, live theater and movies. He lives in the country outside of Austin, Texas with his family and their pets (2 dogs & several cats, goats, ducks and chickens!). He is the author (or co-author) of several books, including Creating Your Picture of Success, Hypnotic Tools to Study Smarter and Pack the House, as well as almost a dozen hypnosis self help audio recordings.
