REGULATIONS Objectives The Young Filmmaker International Festival aims to promote debate about the infant universe, discussing current educational concepts and values within the cultural diversity, through an overview of audiovisual production by children and young people worldwide. Eligibility a) Short films submitted to the festival must have been produced by people aged 8 to 17. b) The films actors do not have to be children or young people, but the films must reflect the opinions and thoughts of the children and young people involved in their creation. c) Young people of different ages may work together on a short film, provided that all members of the group are aged 8 to 17. In this case, the category in which the film will compete will be determined by the age of the oldest participant. d) Educators, teachers and coaches can ONLY orientate youngs in subjects related to technical support such as edition, equipments location and operation, production, etc. Interferences into creations processes will NOT be accepted. e) Children with parents on the Festival jury are banned from entry. f) Films in languages other than Portuguese must be subtitled in Portuguese
or be accompanied by a dialogue script in English, Spanish or Portuguese. g) Films should be sent in Digital File (.mov or.mp4) with minimal resolution of 640x480 and H264 compression. h) Movies can be sent by electronic transmission platforms (Dropbox, WeTransfer, Googledrive) or DVD by mail. i) The films must last at least one minute and at most ten minutes, including the titles and final credits. The films may be one of three genres: fiction, documentary, experimental or animation. Entries a) Entries for the festival are free of charge. b) Will only be accepted copies of films submitted and posted until October 1 st, 2014, using as proof the date of posting; c) Entry confirmation will be sent by e-mail. d) The entered films can be displayed in the Fetival channel www.youtube.com/user/peqcinfest and www.pequenocineastafest.com. e) The participant authorizes the placement of all audio, video and pictures of the submitted film in all print and electronic media to publicize the Festival. f) Participants must inform the Festival if there is any change in your contact information at any time between the presentation of his film and the announcement of winners. Sending the material For internet entry material: a) The applicant should submit by email to inscriptions@pequenocineastafest.com the following items: download link for the short film to be submitted with a minimum resolution of 640x480 and H264 compression (.mov or.mp4); completed registration form signed and scanned; 2 movie stills; 2 pictures of the making of;
Portuguese dialogue list in English, Portuguese or Spanish. b) The application form, after sending by e-mail, must be sent by post to the following address: Rua Gustavo Sampaio, 411 / 102 Leme Rio de Janeiro - RJ For the material to be mailed by post: a) The material should be posted to the following address: Rua Gustavo Sampaio, 411/102 Leme Rio de Janeiro - RJ b) The applicant shall mail the following items : DVD with digital movie file ( mov or mp4) with a minimal resolution of 640x480 and H264 compression; CD containing 2 movie stills and 2 pictures of the making of List of dialogues in English, Portuguese or Spanish a completed and signed entry form; c) DVDs and CDs must be labeled with the candidate's name and the title of the movie, written with proper stylus on the disc itself. WARNING: do not attach any label or labels on DVDs and CDs; d) The costs of freight and all charges and taxes on the consignment of films will be the sole responsibility of the sender; e) The Festival is not responsible for any losses and / or delays in the transmission of the material, as well as CDs and DVDs damaged or improperly recorded; f) The Festival will not return the films and materials sent for selection.
Consent and Copyright a) The application form must be signed by the legal owner of the participant movie. b) All image, voice, music, or any trademarks and patents wrights used in the movies are the sole responsibility of the participant. About the use of the Movies a) The directors of the participating films authorize its nonprofits use by the Young Filmmaker International Festival in any form they deem appropriate in order to promote the objectives of the Festival; b) The submitted films can be shown at the Young Filmmaker Program, broadcasted CANAL BRASIL. If there is interest, it must be sent an authorization available here www.pequenocineastafest.com.br/ppc completed, signed, scanned and sent along with the application form and film stills to email: inscricoes@pequenocineastafest.com and subsequently mailed to the following address : Rua Gustavo Sampaio, 411 / 102 Leme Rio de Janeiro - RJ Jury The Jury is composed by ten children and young people with representative profiles from different regions of the state of Rio de Janeiro, together with the educational coordinator of the Festival and a representative of the audiovisual market. The Festival will not be responsible for re-shipment in case of absence or return error information in the address on the registration form. Notification The movies entered for the Young Filmmaker International Festival 2014 will be notified of their selection by e-mail from October 10, 2014.
