Faris Family Studio at the Dance Centre, Vancouver BC 677 Davie Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. V6B 2G6 The information below has been provided by the Technical Director of the Dance Centre. Please read carefully! If you have any questions, needs, issues, or concerns; please contact Scott Martin at scottmartin@wda-americas.net who will address them with the TD. All participants at the WDA-Americas Conference & Festival are expected to adhere to the information provided below. Any deviation resulting in additional costs will be passed on to the performer. The Faris Family Studio is a multipurpose black box space. It is located on level 1. The loading dock is located on level 2 across the control booth and is at the same level as the back lane (street level). There are 154 seats on a motorized, retractable system. A house lighting plot, sound speakers, and black legs are in place. There is a fixed grid and 28 rigging points at 3 (1 m) above the grid. The load limits of the rigging points are indicated on the rigging point drawing. The equipment in place is permanent. The current plan is designed to cover the play area, with an excellent lighting plot for washes from different angles and colours and specials, excellent sound dispersion and good masking. General: The floor is permanently covered with a black Harlequin Cascade dance floor. The floor is sprung. It is an open cell floor. Grease from body make-up or other type of products that leave a slippery residue can create a problem. Please discuss with the technical director. No nailing, screwing into the floor are permitted. No sharp objects touching directly the floor are permitted. No nailing, screwing into/onto the walls is permitted. No taping of any kind on the walls is permitted, unless discussed and approved by the technical director. No walls can be used as a set or prop. Please discuss details with the technical director. No major carpentry is permitted. Minor carpentry can be authorized after discussion with the technical director. No painting is permitted, unless discussed and approved by the technical director. Nothing should block the 2 fire exits. The technical director has the final decision, and has the right to remove anything that is in the way of the fire exits.

There is a cross-over upstage. It should be kept clear of any obstruction. It is part of the fire exit route. Doors cannot be propped open. No fire elements are permitted, unless discussed and approved by the technical director. Dimensions: The space is 62 1 deep X 46 7 wide (18.9 m X 14.15 m). The playing area with seats and the masking in place measures: 30 deep X 32 9 wide (9.15 m X 10 m). The grid is at 23 9 (7.25 m) height from the stage level. Loading dock and access to the Faris Family Studio: The loading dock is located on level 2. Double doors are: 5 7 wide X 7 high (1.7 m X 2.1 m) lead to the main lobby on level 2. There is an elevator to go down to level 1. The elevator doors are: 4 wide X 7 high (1.2 m X 2.1 m). The elevator s interior dimensions inside are 7 3 wide X 5 2 deep X 8 9 high (2.2 m X 1.55 m X 2.65 m). The doors leading to the Faris Family Studio space are: 4 9 wide X 8 high (1.45 m X 2.4 m). If big or long pieces of equipment need to be moved into the space, consult with the technical director. Dressing room: There is a small green room upstage equipped with a toilet, sink with hot and cold water, mirror, light. There are 2 dressing rooms: level 3 for women; level 4 for men. Both dressing rooms are equipped with toilets, showers with hot and cold water, sinks with hot and cold water, mirrors, lights, lockers (please provide your own padlock). No overnight storage is permitted unless authorized. WDA-A has rented the Bruce R Birmingham Studio on level 2 as an additional shared dressing room and warm-up area just prior and during the performances where calls to perform will be made from. Stairs in the studio lead to the backstage of theatre. Storage: Storage is very limited. All props must be identified and approved by WDA-Americas and the TD. Any approved props can and will only be stored on the day of the performance at the Dance Center. Shipping and outside storage of props and costumes are the responsibility of the presenters. Smoking: The Faris Family studio, and the whole building, is a non-smoking environment. Food and Drink: No food is permitted in the Faris Family Studio. Only bottled drinks (with cap) are allowed. Crew:

The technical director will be present at all time anyone is present in the Theatre. The TD has been hired for 8 hours each day of performance for tech and performance time. Other crew will be comprised of trained student and professional volunteers at the conference. Should a performance group require additional or specialized crew, or wish the TD to be present for additional time, they will be required to arrange time and personnel through WDA-Americas. The TD has the final decision on crew issues. During the 1 hour meal break, the Faris Family Studio is considered dark. Drapes & Cyc: 5 pairs of legs are hung. See plot. Dimensions: 23 9 high X 8, wide (7.25 m X 2.45 m) each. White PVC Cyc permanently hung. See plot. Dimension: 23 9 high X 38 9 wide (7.25 m X 11.9 m) Lighting: The house plot is permanent. It is designed to cover the playing area, with washes from different angles, colours and specials. If a performing group requests additional lighting, we can rent the extra equipment through the Dance Centre's lighting supplier at very good prices. The technical director has the sole discretion regarding what can be added. Adding lighting impacts labour and time costs. These costs will be passed to the performing group who requests additions. House plot cabling is permanent. Lighting of the house plot consists of: 1 Backlight wash O/W with barn doors. 1 Backlight wash with scrollers. 1 Tip wash with scrollers. 1 Tip wash with gobos O/W. 1 Par Tip wash O/W. 1 Front wash R51. 6 I-Cue intelligent mirrors. 6 Broadway scrollers for IQ mirrors Booms: 8 Booms 10 (3 m) high 1 Shin wash (36 S4). 1 Par wash (Par 64 MFL). 1 High wash (36 S4). Console: ETC Express 48/96 with monitor. 192 channels. 24 submasters, 10 pages Dimming: ETC Sensor rack. 47 Dual modules 2.4 kw (94 dimmers).

1 CC module (non-dim, dimmer 49-50, for PSU and other devices). Circuits: 96 circuits at grid level. 2 are non-dims. 20 AMPS TLG connectors. See plot. External Power: Located on the loading dock. 400 AMPS, 3 phase, E1016 CAM-LOCK connectors, ground and neutral reverse. Sound: There are 6 speaker connections in the ceiling, 2 at stage level for monitors and sub woofers, and 2 behind the seating for sub woofers. See plot. The house configuration consists of: 2 pairs of speakers on the grid, 1 pair of speakers on stage for monitors, and 1 pair of sub woofers behind the seating. A maximum of 6 speaker points and 2 sub woofers points can be patched into the system. Speaker configuration is indicated on the plot. Only qualified technicians can operate the digital sound console. Sound Equipment: 6 EAW 12" 2-way speakers 2 EAW 18" sub woofers 4 QSC amplifiers 1 Ashly Protea processor 1 Yamaha O2R96 digital recording console (24 analogue inputs, 16 mic pre s, 8 Auxiliary sends, 4 digital effects processor on board, 8 buses, stereo mains outputs) 1 Sony CDP-D11 CD player 1 Sony MDS-E12 MD player 1 Cassette Player Denon DRW585RM 1 100' (30.5 meters) snake 12-4 (installed) 3 Shure Beta 58 mic. 3 Microphone stands 1 Yamaha MOTU 828 Firewire 2 DI (passive) 4 Line Level Shifter -10dBV/+4dBu A small amount of adaptors and various cables. Video: There are several playback devices available for video playback in various formats. These items must be approved and reserved by WDA-A as there may be additional costs. Any additional costs will be passed on to the performing group making the request. Video can also be directly played from computer or via Max/MSP/Jitter and displayed via a VGA or video connection to

the projectors or video to the video mixer. If bringing in a Mac based computer please bring your own video connection to VGA converters. Video Equipment: 2 DVD players (not the same model) 1 Panasonic WJ-MX-20CND mixer is available for mixing video from 4 sources to 1 output. 1 VHS multi-standard player (Samsung SV5000W) 2 Projectors NEC Np-905. 1 projector has a default position on pipe #5. It is possible to move it. The other projector can be rigged and cabled depending of the needs for each show. Small number of cables and adaptors. Other Video 2 Low light security cameras + power supplies. (Panasonic Black&White WV-BP330 & Panasonic Colour WV-CP470) 2 lenses (Panasonic Auto Iris WV-LA210OC3 & Panasonic Vari-focal WV-LZF61/2) Power cable (from power supplies) Lift: We have a Genie lift. Model APW 25. Working height: 31 (9.45 m). As per need of the production, we will rent a second lift from our supplier. A renting cost is attached to the second lift. No scissors lifts are permitted. Rigging Points: There are 28 rigging points in the ceiling. The load limit is 4000 lbs (1800 kg) per point (vertical) spread on a maximum of 5000 lbs (2265 kg) per beam and are indicated on the rigging points drawings. Only technician with good rigging knowledge can do rigging. Unistruts: There are Unistruts channels in the space. The load limit is 500 lbs (225 kg) The load limit at 3 (1 m) from the unistrut is 100 lbs (45 kg). They are located on the 2 side walls (north and south), and are in line with the main grid pipes. The SBDC has no hardware for the Unistruts. SPECIAL NOTE: If strobe lights or similar effect are in use for the show, a warning sign must be posted. This must be approved by WDA-A and the TD. If smoke or fog machines are in use, please discuss with the technical director. Some machines may affect our smoke detectors. This must be approved by WDA-A and the TD.
