Product Description and General Specifications This DigitaLinx 4:1 Switching device allows up to 4 Digital Media inputs to share one Digital Display. The inputs can be easily selected for display by using the included IR remote, the manual button on the device itself, or by use of RS-232 protocol with a personal computer. (Software not included) This switcher is perfect for Home Theater systems. No more hassles with unplugging and plugging different Digital Media connections to view inputs from multiple devices (e.g. DVD, Satellite Receiver, Computer, TiVo) The system can easily accommodate DVI only inputs and outputs by using Liberty s high quality HDMI to DVI interconnects. The DVI connector is routed to the sources and display unit while the HDMI connector plugs into the DigitaLinx switcher. The digital audio signal is not transmitted when using DVI connectors. Features High Quality Picture No loss of resolution or introduced digital artifacts Our switchers are manufactured to deliver the highest quality picture by preserving the native resolution from the video sources and eliminating any digital artifacts (pixel loss or sparklies ). Due to the nature of digital signals any non-active connector junctions will detrimentally affect the signal, this device provides active junctions to re-constitute and amplify the signal (boosting) and ensures the signal quality to the display. Signal Amplification Each switching device is powered by a 5V external power supply to ensure adequate power is available to perform the signal boost to the correct specification. This is necessary because the introduction of a switcher indicates that longer cable lengths are in use. This device corrects the signal loss from a longer length cable to the original native resolution and signal power. The maximum length of an interconnect cable recommended for this device is 15 meters. The 15 meter cable must be certified to perform to the required resolution. All Liberty Wire & Cable HDMI interconnects are tested to ensure 1080p resolution. Compact and Practical Design The DigitaLinx Switch is designed with all inputs and outputs located on the rear of the device. This will allow the device to be mounted in a rack and efficiently route the cabling. The front of the device contains the IR remote sensor, manual switch and LED indicator lights for RS232 and channel indicators. IR Remote Control Each DigitaLinx is shipped with a convenient IR remote with a discrete channel selection feature. This allows input selection to be changed quickly and easily. RS232 Control The RS232 control input is incorporated into all switches to allow control by a remote computer. This is helpful in switching applications where the video inputs require automatic switching. The PC can control the unit to switch at predetermined times and view video sources in set time intervals. The RS232 LED indicators on the front of the unit allow monitoring of the RS232 function. The computer or control device may require additional software for various other functions. (Software not included.) Features 1-4

Symptom Device will not operate No Picture or poor picture Remote Control unit will not operate Programming Universal Remote Control Solution Ensure the 5VDC power adapter is plugged in, the power indicator LED should be lit 1.) If the source is HDCP enabled, ensure the display is also HDCP compliant. 2.) Ensure you are using Liberty certified copper interconnects for distances from 6-15 meters. Performance with other manufacturer s cables has not been verified. 3.) Computer users try lower refresh rate settings, Most HDTV s have a refresh around 48 Hz and computer video cards are generally much higher. 4.) Ensure the HDMI connectors are securely plugged in, HDMI does not have a locking mechanism and can dislodge with handling. 5.) Turn off all equipment and restart per the process on page 1-5. Make sure the included batteries are correctly installed. Make sure the 5V power is plugged in the back of the unit. Check to see if the power LED light is on. Try rebooting the switch by unplugging and re-plugging in the AC plug of the 5V power adapter.
