TYPEDESIGN continues the long tradition of type TypeParis is an intensive programme based in Paris. Our unique approach design study that started in France back in the 1970 s. The comprehensive programme runs 5 days a week for 5 weeks. The majority of sessions will be provided by two instructors together. With two sessions a day, instructors will deliver 340 hours of instruction during the 5 weeks. During this time several visits have been arranged to see notable french institutions and discover the immense and fascinating history of type, including the collections at Bibliothèque Nationale, Bibliothèque Mazarine, Bibliothèque de l Arsenal, Musée de l Imprimerie and Musée Gallo Romain in Lyon, etc. A brilliant combination of tutoring and talks with, among other luminaries of the type world, award winning designer and educator, Jean François Porchez. TALKS to the public as well livestream. Each Wednesday in Paris we organize the #tptalks18. A serie of free talks open The concept is simple: A graphic designer who use typography in the best manner together with a type designer or lettering artist, presented together by a facilitator. The goal is to gather as many people as possible. It s free event (registration required), but every participant receive a totebag full of typographic goodies. We organize tweet competitions with awards. Sponsor corners are available. Also during the evening: various side attractions, as well as free dishes and drinks. The social aspect is important. TypeParis Summer will be an unprecedented opportunity to learn about contemporary digital type from a Gallic perspective. It s about time.
