Introduction This guidance is for registered providers, and explains the correct use of the CQC logo and other images when displaying your CQC ratings. CQC has permitted use of its corporate logo and ratings images in the following circumstance: Where the use is by an organisation that is regulated and registered by CQC and the purpose is to display CQC ratings on that organisation s website. These guidelines explain the correct use of CQC s logo and other images (referred to as CQC brand images throughout) when creating your own CQC ratings display to comply with legislation (see www.cqc.org.uk/content/display-ratings for more details). By following them, you will ensure that wherever people see your CQC ratings display online, it is reproduced consistently. Although we strongly advise using CQC s ready-made tools to display your ratings (see www.cqc.org.uk/content/ratings-display-toolkit), we acknowledge that a small minority of organisations may not be able to use these tools and may need to use CQC brand images to create their own ratings display. Please note: Organisations that are registered with CQC are not permitted to use these CQC brand images for any other purposes. Organisations that are NOT registered with CQC are not permitted to use the logo and other brand images. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further details. Using the CQC logo and other CQC imagery 2

Creating your own ratings display If you choose to create your own ratings display for online use (rather than using CQC s ready-made tools mentioned above), your website display must include the following, ideally in the order shown (as illustrated by the images opposite): The name of the rated service. The overall rating for that service awarded by CQC. NOTE: you must use the ratings image provided by CQC (see below). The date the inspection report was published. CQC s website address (www.cqc.org.uk). A link to the page on CQC s website where people can access your inspection report and ratings. We encourage you to also include the CQC logo this should appear at the top of the display. Only use the logo provided by CQC. Examples Using the CQC logo and other CQC imagery 3

Our logo Our logo is made up of two elements a symbol and a logotype. It should appear on a light background (NOT on a dark background or over an image). It must only appear as shown above in terms of colour and layout: Do not use the Q symbol on its own or rearrange the Q symbol and associated words. Do not distort the logo. Always use the official artwork files we have provided. Using the CQC logo and other CQC imagery 4

See images below for the minimum size allowed and amount of space to allow around the logo. Using the CQC logo and other CQC imagery 5

Ratings images There are four ratings images as shown below. Please note: You must always use these images in an online ratings display alternatives are not acceptable. Position and size of ratings images in online ratings displays The ratings images should appear below the CQC logo and the organisation name. Using the CQC logo and other CQC imagery 6

See the report button You must use the See the report button image shown below in an online ratings display. Position and size of report button in online ratings displays The ratings images should appear at the very bottom of the display. It should link to the relevant page on CQC s website where people can see your inspection report. Alternatively the whole ratings image can be made clickable and link to the report. Where can I find the CQC brand images? Email webteam@cqc.org.uk to request your brand images. Organisations wishing to use CQC brand images for purposes other than displaying ratings CQC does not allow non-registered organisations to use its logo or other imagery. This is because as an independent regulator, we cannot be seen to endorse any particular organisation or service provider. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further details. However, we may grant permission, on a case-by-case basis, for an organisation to use the CQC logo for a specific joint project. More information If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact webteam@cqc.org.uk. Using the CQC logo and other CQC imagery 7
