Example Body Paragraph Using the AEC Format In the beginning of the novel, Alyss is characterized as ingenious, spirited, and exalted. Alyss is always making things interesting, like when she stated, It d be more fun if it had fountains of water coming out of it... immediately the hoop was spurting water from the tiny holes along its surface (Beddor 13). With her imagination, she can make something so boring, like the inventors parade, and make it into something so much more compelling. Her ability to do this is driven by her own wanting for excitement. Even though she is obligated to fulfill the serious duties of a princess, her ingenuity makes it a little more fun. Alyss spirit shows too, like when she was thinking of how she would have rather hidden with her friend dodge in one of the palace towers, dropping jollyjellies from an open window (Beddor 11). This shows that she is energetic and would rather be up and doing something than watching a whole parade. When you mix her imagination and her spirit, it shows that she loves doing fun and exciting things and can easily find those type of things to do. These two characteristics are one of the many reasons that she is loved by all of the Wonderlanders. For example, on her birthday it was said that the chorus of voices might have become painfully loud if it had been any other song to any other princess (Beddor 21). She is held in extremely high regards in Wonderland, and the people are eager and excited for her to be their leader in the future. She is highly exalted. This is seen when she travels to the real world and it is thought that she is dead by Wonderlanders. The ones that rebel even name their army in memory and favor of her, Alyssians.
