Follow us on twitter: @BACKendal facebook: facebook.com/breweryartscentre Welcome 02 Welcome to our new spring season at the Brewery. I hope you enjoy browsing through the following pages and find something exciting that piques your interest. Richard Foster Brewery Business Club Members - find out more on our website As we look forward to an exciting 2018, I d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your valued support. Twice last year, the Sunday Times cited the cultural offer, particularly at the Brewery, as the reason Kendal was a great place to live. With nearly 75 per cent of our audience living within 25 miles of the Brewery, it is the people of Kendal and South Lakeland that support us in making this such a special place. Around 85 per cent of our income is self-generated through ticket revenues, course fees and sales through our bars, restaurant and café. This money is then ploughed back into the centre. How can you help? You could join our membership scheme which offers a range of special events, offer and discounts. You could also make a donation to one of our three campaigns which include improving the building, supporting the artistic programme or boosting arts provision for young people. However, the best way you can help is simply to use us. Pop in for a coffee, see a film, enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the bar or come to a show. Over the last 45 years, the Brewery has been a hub for local people to experience a show, take part in a class, or simply meet friends for drink. We ve also attracted countless thousands of people to the town to see some of the biggest stars in world entertainment, which benefits the local economy to the tune of around 8 million annually. With your help we can look forward to many more years at the heart of the community. Thank you. Richard Foster Chief Executive Find out more by contacting the box office or emailing ann.grant@ breweryarts.co.uk

Follow us on twitter: @BACKendal facebook: facebook.com/breweryartscentre Music 04 An exciting array of country music artists will be heading to Kendal from across the pond for a special spring season of Americana music. americana Bronwynne Brent - Thu 15 Mar The Fretless - Fri 26 Jan The series of gigs kicks off with exciting young Canadian band The Fretless (26 Jan) whose unique take on traditional fiddle music saw them scoop two major prizes at the Canadian Folk Music Award. February sees a welcome return for hi-energy Colorado bluegrass outfit The Railsplitters (15 Feb) who have spent much of the last three years honing their traditional Appalachian sound on the road. A debut visit to the Brewery beckons for London-based Danny & The Champions of the World (2 Mar), a critically acclaimed outfit who dominated the 2016 UK Americana Awards scooping three major prizes. Mississippi artist Bronwynne Brent s (15 Mar) music mines the darker seams of American country music, with a hint of Delta blues and honky tonk behind the ache in her songs.
