3 Money Matters frugal (froo-guhl) adjective To be very careful not to waste things If you are really frugal with your money, you can save for fantastic things. Antonym wasteful Mom says Dad is frugal. I say he s cheap!

splurge (splurj) verb Money Matters 4 To buy something expensive that you probably don t need Yippee! Grandma splurged on a new bike for me. Corey splurged and had a big sundae. Synonym indulge

5 Money Matters bankrupt (bangk-ruhpt) adjective Unable to pay back all the money you owe The new restaurant quickly went bankrupt. Synonym broke No money + lots of bills = bankrupt.

6 Latin Prefix: Mal malnutrition (mal-noo-trish-uhn) noun A harmful condition caused by not having enough food or by eating the wrong kind of food I get it: mal means bad. Malnutrition is bad nutrition. The lost dog had fleas and was suffering from malnutrition. Related word malnourished 10

malicious Latin Prefix: Mal 7 (muh-lish-uhss) adjective Intended to cause harm Teasing me like that is so malicious! Antonym kind Malicious rhymes with vicious. 11
