She said that the skirt was too tight and it was not sewn neatly. Liza finally gave in. She offered Mrs Johansen a three-ringgit discount. However, Mrs Johansen then said that she left her purse at home and she only brought RM20. She promised to pay for the remainder later. Liza knew that this lady was up to her trick again so she pulled out the skirt from the plastic bag and told Mrs Johansen to claim her skirt later when she had the money. Mrs Johansen did not expect that. She was shocked. Then, she pretended to search in her handbag before taking out another twenty ringgit. She gave the money to Liza. No, no, Mrs Johansen. It s RM52. Another twelve ringgit, please, said Liza firmly. Mrs Johansen reluctantly pulled out twelve ringgit more from her handbag. 16. What did Liza sew for Mrs Johansen? Questions 22 Read the story below and answer the questions that follow. Once, there was a swan that had beautiful golden feathers. It lived in a pond near the house of a poor woman and her two daughters. One day, the swan visited their home and said, I shall give you one feather at a time. Take it and sell it. With the money that you get, you can live in comfort. After saying this, the swan shed one of her feathers and flew away. The swan would visit the woman and shed a feather from time to time. In this way, the woman and her two daughters led a comfortable life. After a while, the woman became greedy and wanted all the feathers at once. She said to her daughters, We cannot trust the swan for long. She may fly away and never come back. If this happens, we will be poor again. We will take all her feathers the next time she comes. The woman s daughters tried to stop their mother. Put all her feathers will hurt her, they cried. Their mother, however, had made up her mind. So, when the swan came again, the mother caught it and pulled out all her feathers. At once, all the golden feathers turned into ordinary white ones.
