REUSE GUIDE Reuse is about saving. Not just saving money, but saving energy, raw materials and landfill space and that s good for our environment and our pocketbooks. Donate, fix, rent, share, and buy and sell used to get maximum use out of items before sending them to the landfill. Donate When you decide to replace household items or update your wardrobe, donate reusable items to outlets that can find a new home for them. When you donate Make sure your items are clean and in good condition. Contact the organization to make sure they accept the items you re donating. Second-hand stores do not accept firearms, construction debris, hazardous waste or mattresses. Never leave items outside of dropoff locations. Ask for a receipt in case your donation is tax deductible. CHARITIES AND THRIFT SHOPS Donate clean, used clothing and accessories, shoes, books, toys, bedding, furniture and home goods at these charity and thrift shops.
