There is only Panem. It is composed of the Capitol and Districts 1-12. Every District has a sole job to do for the Capitol. District 12 s job is coal mining. In District 12, Katniss Everdeen is a girl who lives sort of a mysterious life; she hunts illegally in the woods with her friend Gale. Then the day of the reaping comes. This is the requirement for the Hunger Games. A competition when 1 girl and boy from each District go into an area and fight until one l one victor remains. These people are called tributes. When the name for the girl tribute is called it is Prim Everdeen, Katniss s little sister! She is stupefied since her name is entered only a few times. Immediately Katniss rushes up to the stage and volunteers! Nobody can believe it. Then the boy is called, Peeta Mallark. Now all of the tributes from the Districts are set since District 12 is last.
