Vision Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven. Their influences on the classical music world are unparalleled. In the summer of 2009, orchestras from across America will gather in the homeland of these monumental composers to share in the joy of making music. The Tale of Orchestra Festival will provide truly enriching opportunities for each participant with music as the catalyst in making the experience positively memorable for all. Each participating ensemble will proudly represent their region of the United States at the Festival through the unique experience of showcase performances in two of Europe s leading musical centers Vienna and Prague. I invite you to journey to the heart of the classical music world with friends and colleagues to delight in the sights and sounds of old Europe through this remarkable opportunity! Robert Frelly

Destination Vienna and Prague house so much of the history of the modern orchestra. How better to deepen our understanding of this great musical form than to perform in these wonderful cities. DVORAK HALL, PRAGUE The main concert hall within the Rudolfinum building, the Dvorak Hall is named after the great Czech composer, It is an unparalleled concert venue. The building is named after Crown Prince Rudolf of the Habsburgs, who became patron of its building in the 1870s. KONZERTHAUS, VIENNA The Konzerthaus in Vienna was opened 1913. Since it was founded it has always tried to emphasize both tradition and innovative musical styles. It is home to the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. 3
