Performance Notes Baroque in style, this piece works well with harpsichord or guitars. The flute accompaniment also adds to the baroque feel. Because of the high vocal range of the verses, they are not intended for singing by the assembly but rather by a strong cantor or choir section. I suggest that the harmony part for the refrain be added later in the song so that the arrangement can build in intensity. is ideal as a gathering song or closing song. The subject matter makes it appropriate for middle to later dvent, but also during the whole Christmas season, or any kind of celebration of hope. This song was originally published by North merican Liturgy Resources in the collection Neither Silver Nor Gold; however, the two-flute arrangement is new and there is a slight text change in the third verse. 7 B..
