The Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival will take place in Indianapolis Mass Ave Arts & Theatre District, August 18 to August 28, 2016, on 8 stages in 5 theatres. Shows perform back to back in one hour time slots, with 30 minutes between shows to allow performers 10 minutes to strike, 10 minutes to set up and 10 minutes to seat the audience as follows: First 10 minutes for uninterrupted strike. Second 10 minutes are for load in. (Strike may continue for up to 5 more minutes if absolutely necessary while other show loads in after which time striking performers must be totally out of the space) Third 10 minutes to seat audience. (Load in may continue while audience is being seated until show s scheduled start) All shows must be minimal enough to strike and set up within the allotted time. LIMITATIONS: Companies and/or individuals may only submit one application multiple applications will result in the disqualification of all. Companies may not submit shows with identical titles or content to the previous year's festival. Show must not have been performed or be scheduled to perform in the Indianapolis area within four months of the opening of the festival. Companies in the Festival may not sell or transfer their spot to another company. If we find that a company has sold or transferred their place to a second company, both companies will be removed from The Festival and will forfeit 100% of their application fees. Once the application has been received, the company name and Primary Contact cannot be changed. 2016 VENUES Theatre on the Square Stage II A 65 seat Cabaret style theatre. The theatre has a small amount of wing space on either side. Stage is approximately 12'x26'. It has limited lighting and sound capabilities. Theatre on the Square Mainstage A 128 seat theatre. Stage is approximately 20' x 48'. It has a modest light plot and more intricate sound capabilities. It has wing space on either side, and a crossover. The Phoenix Frank and Katrina Basile Theatre A basement theatre with 60 seats. The stage dimensions are very small, but ideal for one person or stand up shows. It has very limited technical capabilities and a small backstage area. The Phoenix Mainstage A medium sized proscenium theatre with a capacity of 130. This venue has wing space on either side, and modest lighting and sound capabilities. ComedySportz In essence, a store front theatre with a capacity of near 100. This venue has a unique corner stage at the back of the room. The stage is very small with some backstage space. This venue has the most limited lighting capabilities of any of our venues. It has basic sound capabilities.
IndyFringe Basile Theatre Our home base. A converted space, this former church has a 12' x 20' stage and a capacity of 100. It has a modest, but brand new, lighting system and a basic sound system. The stage has small wings on either side,and a narrow backstage crossover. Indy Eleven Theatre Our newest space, a 64 70 seat tiered black box theatre. 8th Venue TBD VENUE ASSIGNMENTS: IndyFringe reserves the right to make venue assignments based on technical requirements from each performer as described on the tech form which is due by April 11, 2016, genre of performance, and any other criteria the IndyFringe believes will be in the best interests of the Festival. Once made, venue assignments are final. Specific venue requests may be taken into consideration on the tech form, but IndyFringe cannot guarantee any or all requests will be honored. SCHEDULING: We expect that all companies accepted into The Festival will be available for the entire duration of the event. If a company's availability is limited for whatever reason please advise us WELL in advance. If a cast member from a particular show is also involved with another festival production, IndyFringe cannot guarantee in advance that the two shows will not have conflicting schedules. Please plan accordingly when casting. Promotional nights such as two for one offers and volunteer night may be scheduled at IndyFringe s discretion. List any major technical requests that you anticipate not all requests can be honored: An additional tech form will be made available March 5, 2016 to provide more detailed information. Each group will receive a two hour time slot to be used as a technical rehearsal in advance of the festival. Groups will not receive additional time. All venues are set up with basic sound and lighting, one technician, and audience seating. Please note: not all spaces can accommodate storage of props or set elements please plan accordingly. All groups are expected to be able to set up and and strike their shows in 10 minutes or less. IndyFringe reserves the right to limit the size, type, or number of set elements, props, or costumes a group may use or store if they are likely to create timing or safety issues. IndyFringe reserves the right to ban certain elements including but not limited to: stage blood, fire, overhead rigging, glitter, dirty, loose feathers, food, water, paint, and glue. IndyFringe reserves the right to ban elements not discussed with the Technical Director in advance of the festival. I have read the application and agree to abide by this document and the policies of IndyFringe including the items listed below. Agree Force Majeur: While the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival will schedule 6 performance times for each company, if performances are delayed or interrupted by an act of God, fire, flood, war, public disaster, strikes or labor difficulties, governmental enactment, regulation or order, or any other cause beyond the control of the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival, IndyFringe shall not be liable for any lost revenues or performance times. Signed Agreement: If your company is accepted into the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival, this application will be considered a signed agreement between you and the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival. Cancellations are accepted only from the Primary Contact in writing. Companies may withdraw from the event and receive a 50% refund of the application fee ($US) up to and including April 15, 2015. Companies who withdraw after April 15, 2016 forfeit their entire application fee. All performing companies agree to adhere to the laws of Indiana, the ordinances of the City of Indianapolis and the policies and procedures of the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival. The Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival reserves the right to cancel any performances of companies not adhering to this agreement. ALL PERFORMERS must individually sign a waiver of liability form and provide a signed copy to the IndyFringe office. Signed liability forms for all performers must be provided to the festival office before the Festival commences. One person from each company must be designated as the person solely responsible for collecting box office revenue at the end of each performance throughout the festival. This person or the producing company (if applicable) must also fill out a W9 tax form prior to their first performance.
