Installation ME4/2 Installation (per disk) 72 mounting posts into dowel holes 36 CSC chambers on YE3 (away from IP) 36 RPC chambers on YE3 (away from IP) Design features Install CSCs closest to iron disk (must go first) CSCs overlapped - - back first, then front Cable back CSCs before installing front ME4/2s Originally RE4 went on YE4 difficult for services Now mount RPC frame on end of posts (M24 hole) Install RPC chambers (overlapped) and cables RPC will wait if the ME4/2s are delayed RE group agrees with the plans shown Dick Loveless SLHC Workshop 20 Nov 2008 4

On-chamber ME4/2 Integration No design work needed Use recovered ME1/1 CFEBs (strips) Need to plan installation carefully, start ME4/2 installation using spare CFEB boards Need new ALCTs (wires) and LVDBs (LV dist.) Electronics Upgrade Issues - Electronics Use spare CFEBs for 1 st 36 ME4/2 chambers Need 180 CFEBs -- have ~200 spares Recover CFEBs from ME1/1 during shutdown Get 180 enough for 2 nd set of 36 ME4/2 chambers Also recover TMBs and DMBs from ME1/1 ME4/2 -- Need new ALCT, LVDB, LVMB, HV dist.
