IDEAL BAR General information Technical specifications Production information
VEGA Copenhagen, Denmark Good day! Some day soon, you will be playing at VEGA. You will be playing at our small club located on street level, at the corner of the venue called Ideal Bar. The venue has a maximum audience capacity of 200 guests, including complimentary tickets. Your guest list capacity is outlined in the deal. By default we have a fixed number of 10 spots to the main act and 5 to the support act. The venue is situated at the centre of the city and you will be close to pretty much anything you might require. Crucial information about the venue size and technical capabilities: Ideal Bar is a very small venue, and the stage area is VERY limited, please see front picture. For the ease of your workday and the experience of our audience, we kindly ask you to accomodate your setup to this scenario. Some simple guidelines based on our experience stage is 3,5m x 4,5m so a four-piece band would benefit from small combo s, a reduced drum kit and a simple keyboard setup. Due to fire exits it is not possible to extend the stage or place equipment outside the stage area. Empty cases may be stored behind the backdrop. Equally the overall experience for the audience, and the small size PA s ability to blend amplified vocals with backline, will very much depend on the overall backline sound level. We clearly recommend to go easy on stage volume, as the room is not much bigger than a large living room, and as such loud cymbals and amps set to 11 will ruin the experience for your audience. Please note that we can only accommodate a total of 16 channels of audio including any support acts, which you will probably have to reconsider your channel list, but again, the size of the venue really does not cater for snare bottom and 3 overhead mic s. After telling you all this, we asure you that you will have a great time at Ideal Bar. An experienced sound engineer will be with you all day, and will provide advice and try to solve whatever obstacles you will face. We hope that you will take the time to read the following pages, as they should provide you with answers yo the most common questions prior to your concert here at VEGA. Should any questions remain after reading this document, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail us. We look forward to having you here and hope that you will have a pleasant stay in Copenhagen. FUN FACT: VEGA is one of the leading concert venues in Europe, and has even been named Best European Music Venue by Live music magazine. The famous Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the building back in 1956 and was named The People s House. The Building is a unique example of Scandinavian architecture and is one of the youngest listed buildings in Denmark. In 1996 the building opened as VEGA House of Music, and today there are three venues supporting approximately 300 concerts and events every year.
