Editor We want to find the editors that are going the extra mile for their authors, the lists they look after and the overall publishing business. Excellence in all-round publishing, irrespective of the genre or format, allied to sales and awards success. Anyone working in a UK or Irish publishing business whose day-to-day job includes editing. Please submit a single PDF with your submission of up to 1,500 words covering the requirements below. Any supporting visuals should be included in the PDF, which should not exceed five pages in total. Please include: A high-res image of the editor as a separate attachment Short biography Evidence of author management and support particularly new and existing authors being developed creatively and/or commercially Evidence of the building and curation of a successful, coherent and consistent list Evidence of working with other departments beyond the boundaries of acquisition and editing Evidence of sales success (year on year) across the list, as well as individual titles Evidence of awards success across the list and on individual titles and writers

Literary Agent We want to find the literary agent that is working on behalf of their authors, in consistent and innovative ways that maximise rewards. Anyone working as a literary agent in the UK and Ireland. Please submit a single PDF with your submission of up to 1,500 words covering the requirements below. Any supporting visuals should be included in the PDF, which should not exceed five pages in total. Please include: A high-res image of the editor as a separate attachment Evidence of how the agent is maximising authors interests; balancing both long and short-term interests against the backdrop of today s fast changing and challenging publishing environment Evidence of active author management e.g. moving the author between publishers; creating a buzz around a début author; re-negotiating deals; maximising income from film, digital and TV rights; or building an author s international profile Ways in which the individual or agency has improved their authors back list visibility and performance Sales or awards success on particular titles or individual author success stories Testimonials from clients, publishes or fellow agents Short biography Agents can work in dedicated UK literary agencies, literary divisions of multi-discipline agencies or as independents

Rights Professional We are looking for individuals who have driven revenues through the licensing of international rights and/or co-editions or serial rights. Individuals working in UK publishing houses or literary agencies, whether they are working on their own, in small teams, or as part of larger rights departments. Please submit a single PDF containing your written submission of up to 1,500 words addressing the requirements below. Any supplementary material should be included in the single PDF file. Your PDF should not exceed 10 pages in total. Please include: A high-res image of the rights professional as a separate attachment Biography including key achievements within company Details of working structure i.e. how the individual fits within the overall department, in the case of larger rights teams, and who else on the team has contributed to its recent success. Financial evidence of skilful and profitable trading in international rights markets and/or co-editions or serial rights Evidence of imaginative packaging and selling rights across all territories Evidence of imaginative packaging and selling rights in digital, and other non-book, formats Evidence of how you have maximised backlist opportunities

Individual Bookseller We want to find the booksellers be they shop managers or young retailers whose retail skills, knowledge and enthusiasm have made a fundamental difference to the performance of a shop or book department. In a customer-facing business, these are the individuals that customers look out for, or the managers who have created a culture of great customer service. Anyone selling books direct to the public from an independent bookshop, book chain or specialist books department of a high street book retailer. Please submit a single PDF of up to 1,500 words addressing the requirements below. Any supporting graphics should be included in the PDF, which should not exceed five pages. A short biography Evidence of how your customer service, marketing, events or partnership ideas have contributed to the commercial success of the bookshop or department Evidence of how your book selection has created out-of-the-ordinary results particularly when championing individual titles Supporting testimonials from colleagues or customers High res image (separate attachment)
