The author obviously has an extensive knowledge of sixties era San Francisco Chinatown and Chinese American culture; and he freely shares that knowledge while weaving an intriguing mystery which had me constantly fudging just one more chapter. A combined good read and pleasant learning experience. I'll be reading more of his books. The chinese jars took me by the hand for a visit to misty San Francisco and the republic of Chinatown. I found the glance in the multicultural world of a nation within a city just fascinating.
