PROCEDURE OF SET UP (1.)Connection to LCD or CRT (In This section, after finishing the installation you will have a TV function only) a. Take the TV BOX main unit, let it upright or horizontally placed beside your CRT or LCD b. Connect the Antenna or CATV cable to the CABLE IN of the back panel of TV BOX c. Take the VGA Cable of CRT or LCD, connect the HD-15 VGA connector to TO MONITOR on the back panel of TV BOX. Fasten the screws, Please note: It is very important to fasten the screws. Loose connection will cause the distortion of Picture. d. Take the connector of your Multimedia speaker (please note the connector should be 3.5mm male stereo type), connect to SPEAKER on the back panel of TV BOX e. Take out the AC/DC adaptor (included), please check the Voltage of your outlet of AC Power is the same rating with the adaptor. Hook the AC/DC Adaptor to the Outlet, connect the output of DC to DC 12V on the back panel of TV BOX f. Turn on the Power of CRT or LCD, then push POWER button to TV Mode, if there are TV screen on your CRT or LCD. Congratulation! You have finished the Installation b Rear Speaker d. CRT or LCD c. e. (2) Connection to Computer (In this section, after finishing the installation, you will have a TV function and you can also use your PC) a. Take the TV BOX main unit, let it upright or horizontal placed beside your CRT or LCD b. Connect the Antenna or CATV cable to the CABLE IN of the back panel of TV BOX c. Take the VGA Cable of CRT or LCD, connecting the HD-15 VGA connector to TO MONITOR on the back panel of TV BOX. And take the VGA cable(supplied), connect one end to VGA IN on TV BOX, another end to VGA Card. Fasten the screws. Please note it is very important to fasten the screws. Loose connection will cause the distortion of Picture. d. Take the connector of your Multimedia speaker (please note the connector should be 3.5mm male stereotype), connect to SPAEKER on the back panel of TV BOX e. Take the supplied 3.5mm Audio cable, connect one end to Speaker out of Sound Card of Computer, another end to AUDIO IN of TV BOX f. Take the AC/DC adaptor, please check the Voltage of your outlet of AC Power is the same rating with the adaptor. Hook the AC/DC Adaptor to the Outlet, connect the output of DC to DC 12V on the back panel of TV BOX g. Turn on the Power of CRT or LCD, then push POWER button to TV Mode, if there are TV screen on your CRT or LCD. Congratulation! You have finished the installation b. Rear d. Sound Card 6
(3)Connection to TV Game Console, V8 or another Video Appliances, Please follow the previous procedure first (If your Video Source is only RCA Output, please follow the steps) a. Connect the RCA connector to the output of your TV Game, DVD or VCR (Please note the connection cable should be color coded, yellow for Video, White for Audio R, Red for Audio L) b. Connect the other end of RCA to the Video/Audio Input on the front panel of TV BOX (Please note the connection cable should be color coded, yellow for Video, White for Audio L, Red for Audio R) c. Turn on the Power of TV BOX and your Video Appliance Select the POWER mode to TV mode. Change the Source to CVBS d. Push the PLAY key on your Video device, If you see the picture, your installation is completed. (If Your Video Source has S-Video, please follow the steps below) a. Connect the S connector and 2 Audio RCA Connectors to the output of your TV Game, DVD or VCR (please note the Audio connection cable should be color coded, White for Audio R, Red for Audio L, S-Video Connector has special connector, please find the right orientation, never push too heavily otherwise the S-connector will be broken. ) b. Connect the S connector to the S on the TV BOX and 2 Audio RCA Connectors to AUDIO on the front panel of TV BOX (please note the Audio connection cable should be color coded, White for Audio L, Red for Audio R, S-Video Connector has special connector, please find the right orientation, never push too heavily otherwise the S-connector will be broken) c. Turn on the Power of TV BOX and your Video Appliance. d. Select the POWER mode to TV mode. Change the Source to S-VIDEO e. REMOTE CONTROLLER DESCRIPTION Illustration of remote control (Please Note there are some differences between PAL system and NTSC system) For detailed description please sees the following pages VOL+/-: Volume Control CH+/-: Channel up/down MTS (NTSC,PAL) Second Audio Program Select MUTE: Mute key for audio muting CH+/-: channel up/down (only valid in TV/CATV mode) Select: selection key (should work with MENU key) MENU: Setting of TV function Power: TV/PC mode selection INPUT: Source selection between different sources Volume Control: Volume Control for TV, Video, S-Video EXIT: exit key( should work with Menu key Numeric Key: 0~9 FC SCAN: change the operation mode to FC Mode( only valid in TV/CATV mode) FC MEMO: editing your favorite channel list OSD: OSD Display RCL: Last Channel Recall (only valid in TV/CATV mode) PIP: PIP Function Key Sleep: Timer for sleep 9 Channel Preview 8
OPERATION (1) MTS (OPTION) If you have the MTS (NTSC), NICAM(PAL) option of your TV BOX, and when you are watching TV Program, You can push this button to select your audio output. (Please note not all the TV programs has MTS, if you want to have this function, please check your TV station or CATV operator for further information) Press MTS Press MTS (2) Power In the normal operating condition, TV BOX is in TV Mode. You can push this button to switch between TV and PC mode. But Please note that if your PC is off, when you push this button to PC mode, there will be no picture on your screen. And also the same way, when you change to TV mode, your Video or CATV/TV signal will be lost, and no picture if the signal source connection is not in coincident with the input source setting. Press Power (3) MUTE If you want to mute your audio out, you can push this button for muting, if you want to resume, push this button or Volume Up, the audio will be back. Please Note this Key will work only on the TV Mode Press MUTE (4) Input Signal Sources Selection. There are different source for TV BOX. You can push this button to select different Source. The selection is a cyclic procedure and only valid in TV Mode. The procedure is TV CVBS(A/V) S-Video PC Press Input Press Input Press Input 9
(5) Channel +/- You can push for channel up for channel down, Please note these keys are valid under TV MODE Press (6) Select This Key should be work with MENU key, when you adjust the TV BOX TV Box. You need to push this button for the confirmation. (7) VOL +/- You can change the volume of the Audio Output, for volume up, for volume down. Please note these keys are valid only under TV mode Press (8) MENU Adjustment of TV BOX: There are 7 items available, Please note if you are not so familiar with the adjustment, we strongly recommend you that not to use this function. Otherwise you will experience the distortion of picture. When you push MENU button there will show the following message on your screen. The detailed setting described as follow. MENU 1. Input: Source of the TV BOX When you choose this function there are 4 selections available (shown on your screen), please use to choose what you like. And then press Select key on the remote control, and finish the selection MENU 1. Picture: Setting of Picture Parameter When you choose Picture function then Press Selection on Remote Control, there will 5 selections of this function, You can choose different setting, if you want to do the adjustment, you need to highlight the item you want to do, then press the Select key on the remote, then do the adjustment. key is for adjusting to lower, is for adjusting higher. Brightness is for adjusting the brightness on your screen. Contrast is for adjusting the contrast of the Picture Color is for adjusting the color of picture Hue is for adjusting the saturation of Color Sharpness is for adjusting the sharpness of Picture 10

TV System CATV, AIR 2 selections (only for NTSC) Channel Edit Add, Erase 2 selections Fine Tune: Fine tuning of the TV frequency, MTS MONO, STEREO, SAP 3 selections (only for NTSC, PAL) Full Scan: Scan the Channel with frequency Channel Scan: scan the Channel with internal frequency map MENU 1. Resolution Please note: resolution and vertical refresh rate is critical for your monitor, you must make sure that your monitor can support this setting, otherwise, you will loss the VGA signal and you need to have another monitor to set up this TV Box. When you choose Resolution, then Press Selection on Remote Control, there will be 10 selections of this function, You can choose different setting. OSD Function When you choose OSD then Press Selection on Remote Control, there will 2 selections of this function, You can choose different setting, If you want to do the adjustment, you need to highlight the item you want to do, then press the Select key on the remote, and do the adjustment. OSD Position: Choose the OSD Message position on the screen, press to choose the right position that you like. OSD Color: Choose the color of OSD Message MENU 1. Reset When you select this item, you will set the TV BOX to original factory setting. (9) EXIT When you are doing adjustment in MENU function, you can press this key to return to Main MENU or exit the set up. (10) Numeric Key You can directly assign the channel you want to watch. Please note this key is only valid in TV Mode (11) FC SCAN (12) FC MEMO These 2 keys are designed for Favorite channel application, please see the FC Operation for detailed information (13) RCL When you press this key, you can tune you TV to the previous channel you had been tuned. Please Note it is valid only in TV Mode (14) OSD Function When you press this Key, the input source and channel will show on your screen, you can disable it by press OSD key again 12
(15) 9 Channels Preview Please note: This function is only valid in TV mode If you want to preview the TV channel, you can press this key, then the TV Program will show on your screen one by one in 9 windows, and you can press numeric key twice to cancel the preview. TV mode Press this key 9 Channel Preview press numeric key to view the channel shown in 9 channels (16) Sleep When you press this Key, you can set the timer for automatic shut down of TV Box, there will be 7 selections 1. 5 min 2. 10 min 3. 15 min 4. 30 min 5. 60 min 6. 90 min 7. OFF (17) PIP Function Note: This key is specially used under the PC Mode and the resolution of VGA output should be 1024X768 and under, There are 4 modes, 1/4, 1/9, 1/16 and turn off. When press PIP key, this will activate PIP function, then you can use arrow key to move the PIP Location. If you press PIP key again, the PIP Screen will become smaller as cyclic result. Press PIP 1/4 mode Move the PIP window Press PIP 1/9 mode Press PIP 1/16 mode Press PIP Turn off 13
Setting Favorite Channel Group Step1 : Press FC memo Key(NOTE: this key is only valid under TV mode) If you push this key on Remote controller, then there will be a favorite channel list shown on your screen. then you can edit your favorite channel at this time FC01-05 FC06-10 FC11-15 FC16-20 FC21-25 FC26-30 Step2: move the desired position by Arrows Key When you press the FC MEMO key, the favorite channel list pop up on your screen, you can move the 4 arrows key to the desired position of favorite channel list, then you can assign a channel number ( 1 to 30 ) for current channel on TV Step 3: if you wan to lock or delete a FC channel number in favorite channel setting for current channel on TV, you can press SELECT key on your remote controller *NOTE: You must tune the TV to the channel you wan t to add in your FC channel list before you push the FC memo key. Watching TV with previous Favorite Channel Group First, you need to press FC Scan Key on your remote controller into Favorite Channel list for channel selection. Step 1. The previous favorite channel list will pop up on your screen for few seconds, so you can see what channels were in the list FC01-05 FC06-10 FC11-15 FC16-20 FC21-25 FC26-30 Step 2. If you did not want to see the favorite channel list, you can press EXIT key on your remote controller, it will disappear. Step 3. At this moment, the TV BOX is in the mode of Favorite channel group, there will a message FC mode pop up on the top of right hand side. NOTE: If you finished the setting of favorite channel, you can watch the channel you set by the numeric keys or CH up/ Down. How to exit FC Mode : if you want to change the operation mode to normal TV function. All you need is press the EXIT key again. The operation of TV will be normal 14
TROUBLE SHOOTING 1.No picture a. The connection could be not correct, please contrast the connection with illustration. b. Check the power plug whether it is firmly connected and the supplied voltage meets the adapter rating. c. Make sure that the selected mode is the same as input signal, and then perform AUTO SCAN again. ( For example : under AIR TV mode, the F connector has to be connected with UHF/ VHF antenna. Under CATV mode, the F connector has to be connected to CATV system.) d. Did you set the resolution too high (e.g. 1280*1024 with a common 1024*768 monitor)? In this case, turn the TV box off and enter 000 with the IR remote control. 2. No sound The connection could be not correct, please contrast the connection with illustration. 3. TV BOX has no response while using remote controller a. Make sure that you are pointing to the IR sensor window of TV BOX within 6 M, and +/- 15 degrees. b. Please check the batteries and replace with new one if necessary. ***************************************************************************************************** The standard of VGA signal output from this unit TV BOX is identical to general PC VGA display card, so the use of this unit will not violate the warranty of LCD or CRT monitor. ***************************************************************************************************** USER INFORMATION This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B Digital Device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
