Disney s The Lion King JR Auditions Saturday, March 10 @ 10 am Lionesses, Hyenas, Ensemble - Group Auditions Saturday, March 10 @ 1pm All Actors for Lead/Solo Roles - Solo Auditions Sunday, March 11 @ 6pm Call Backs All actors desiring lead roles will be required to sing a solo. We only need to hear 1 minute of singing; you may sing acapella, with a music only track or we will have an accompanist. If you are auditioning for a Lioness, Hyena or the Ensemble, you will be allowed to sing in a group; we will sing Row, Row Your Boat. Choreography auditions will be in groups only. There will not be any readings for specific parts March 10. Actors should arrive 30 minutes before the audition time to complete paperwork. We will ask parents/actors to identify all rehearsal conflicts. (Rehearsal Calendar Attached). CALL BACKS are Sunday, March 11 at 6pm. We will call you and let you know if we need to see you again. Being called or not called DOES NOT indicate whether or not you are cast. All actors will be notified by Wednesday, March 14 at 5pm. The theater will be purchasing costume items in bulk for this production. It is typical in a show for actors to purchase their own personal items such as leotards, shoes, personal items, etc. Due to the large-scale costumes in this show, there will be a cost per actor to help defray some of these costs, which will then contribute to the on-going Children s Theater productions for years to come. The per actor cost will be under $50. We do not want this cost to deter actors from auditioning for this show. Please feel free to contact us if you feel this will cause a hardship for your family. Attention Families! There is an opportunity for some good ol fashioned COMMUNITY BUILDING during this production. Please be on the lookout for information regarding DRESSING ROOM ASSISTANT VOLUNTEERS, SNACK SHARING OPPORTUNITIES, ETC. RAFIKI a mysterious and wise mandrill SOLO MUFASA - Simba's father SOLO SARABI- a lioness, queen of the Pridelands, are Simba's mother SOLO ZAZU - a hornbill, Mufasa's loyal yet fretful attendant SOLO SCAR - a lion, Mufasa's jealous brother SOLO YOUNG SIMBA - a curious, eager lion who will one day be king SOLO ADULT SIMBA - a curious, eager lion who will one day be king SOLO YOUNG NALA - a spunky, brave lioness and Simba's best friend SOLO ADULT NALA - a spunky, brave lioness and Simba's best friend SOLO SARAFINA - a lioness, Nala's mother GROUP 6 LIONESSES - the female lions who care for the Pridelands GROUP BANZAI - a scruffy male hyena who serves Scar SOLO SHENZI- a tough female hyena who serves Scar SOLO ED - a dimwitted male hyena who serves Scar SOLO 6 HYENAS - stinking, mangy animals who live outside the Pridelands GROUP TIMON - a sarcastic, outgoing meerkat who lives in the jungle SOLO PUMBAA - a gentle, kind-hearted warthog and Timon's best friend SOLO 10 ENSEMBLE animal inhabitants of the Pridelands, including wildebeest; also transform into the jungle and grasslands.
