RESEARCH PLAN User Story RESEARCH GOALS Discover how others create and maintain their playlists and music libraries. HYPOTHESIS Users have disjointed music libraries, and want a way to streamline and have more control over their music playing. USER INTERVIEWS Four user interviews conducted in person in San Francisco and Oakland, lasting an average of 20 minutes each.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS Google Play music has a great selection of prebuilt mood radio stations. Can t seek backwards. You can build your own playlists, otherwise no control over what s next. Spotify is the market leader in music streaming. On-demand and ad-free listening for premium subscribers. Otherwise, always playing Home Depot ads. Difficult to find Saved / Library tracks. Sync with itunes is buggy. Pandora is good if you already know what you want to hear. No control other than like and dislike. User depends on algorithm to find new music.
