III Corearte International Festival Puerto de la Cruz 2018 The III International Choir Festival Corearte Puerto de la Cruz, will be held in Puerto de la Cruz, in Tenerife Island (Canary Islands) from May 22 to May 27, 2018. Festival Languages Spanish and English Categories All choral groups are placed into different categories: children's, youth or adult choirs, religious, community, institutional or university choirs, professional, amateur and chamber choirs, or vocal groups. Individual singers may also participate in special cases (ask the organization). This event is NON-COMPETITIVE. Participation Requirements Choirs wishing to participate in this edition of "Corearte Puerto de la Cruz 2018" must send the following to the organization: Registration Form (available on our website) Brief resume of the choir and its director Recent recording of two works in the choir's repertoire Recent photo of the group and its director Deadlines REGISTRATION FORM Form must be sent via email by January 30, 2018. CONFIRMED DELEGATION LIST The list of people in the delegation must be confirmed by April 1st. No changes will be made after this date.
Repertoire and Instruments Corearte provides a piano or an electronic keyboard, depending on the location. If the choir needs other instruments they must provide them. Some locations do not allow the amplification of instruments. Consult with the organization. The repertoire for the different festival performances must be sent in before April 1st, 2018. The organization will send each choir the concert times and locations in advance. Workshops The choral singing workshops are one of the focal activities for Corearte. These give participants the opportunity to work with internationally renowned teachers and share their rehearsal with the other participants. This year the Festival Corearte Puerto de la Cruz will be honored to receive José Hijar Polo, with a workshop about Canary Music. In order to make the most of the workshops, participants should bring their learned pieces to allow the workshop teacher to focus on style and interpretive issues rather than music theory. A dress rehearsal will take place before the closing concert of the Festival, in which the pieces worked on during the workshop will be performed. Concerts The stages for concert performances are chosen for their acoustic quality and their cultural and/or architectural significance, thus providing participating choirs an opportunity to sing in landmark places of the Island.
Program Festival activities will begin on Tuesday, May 22 at 3:00 pm, so groups are requested to arrive before that time. This program includes choral workshops and touristic activities in Tenerife Island. The Festival's programming will be adjusted as choir registrations are confirmed. This program is tentative and subject to change. Tuesday 05/22: Registration, concert Wednesday 05/23: Workshop, tourism and choir s concert Thursday 05/24: Day off.* Friday 05/25: Workshop, tourism and choir s concert Saturday 05/26: Morning off, workshop, workshop s concert Sunday 05/27: Closing of Corearte Puerto de la Cruz 2018 *On Thursday, 24th, there won t be workshops or concerts thus Choirs will be able to discover Puerto de la Cruz or book excursions, for example. These excursions are not included in the Festival s Registration fee, therefore you should consult the organization administrador@corearte.es Prices Each member of the participating delegations must pay 390 (three hundred ninety euros) for registration, including the choir directors. The registration fee must be paid in three installments. These must be paid according to the following deadlines: Dates Percentage Amount Per Person February 15, 2018 40% 156 April 15, 2018 30% 117 May 22, 2018 30% 117 Total 390 These amounts are per person and in euros. Along with the last payment (at the time of arrival) all extra expenses requested by the members of the choir must be paid, such as double rooms, extra days, transportation, transfers, etc.
There are special discounts for early payment. Consult the organization administrador@corearte.es WAIVER The registration fee will be waived for musical directors of participating choirs composed of more than 25 singers. This waiver will be considered for one director per chorus and applies only to the registration fee ( 390). If the director chooses to stay in a double or single room they must pay the difference. Failure to comply with the deadlines for payment and submission of information will result in the irrevocable loss of this waiver. Changes and Cancellations Payment of participants' registration fees after april 15, 2018 is non-refundable in the case of cancellation of participation. The vacant position may be used by another member of the choir or an accompanist. In the event of a final cancellation, there will be a penalty of 150 euros. What's Included Passes. 4-star Hotel Accommodations in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife Island, half-board included. 6-hour training choral workshops. Concerts in venues acoustically suited to choral music. Group rehearsal spaces (limited availability). Participant Guide with Festival, workshop and tourist information. Certificates of Festival and Workshop participation. A member of Corearte Staff will accompany the group the whole Festival These services are included in the registration costs, the non-utilization of these does not imply any reduction in cost. * Choirs arriving before Tuesday s 22nd Dinner or leaving after Sunday s 27th breakfast must consult prices with the organization. * The Festival includes some visits to sites of tourist interest. These activities are interspersed with Festival concerts, so choirs will be able to enjoy the city and the Festival.
Not Included Airline tickets or ground transportation. Transportation during the Festival (please agree conditions with the organization) Transfers Airport-Hotel-Airport are not included. Entrance fees for museums, visits and other cultural or recreational activities. Insurance: The festival organization has obligatory liability insurance for the event but accepts no responsibility in the case of any accidents and/or illnesses that may occur to participants during its duration, which is why it is mandatory that each participant travel with their individual insurance.
