Managing a Time Clock Station The time clock stations manage web-enabled time clock stations. Browse System Setup under Operations in the left navigation bar. Click Time Clock Stations see a list of the available time clock stations. You can: Click to add a new time clock station. Click the name of the time clock station you want to edit. Click to remove a time clock station. Click to clear the station activity log. The station activity log is a transaction activity record between the web-enabled time clock and the system. The following sections describe the options you can select on each of the tabbed areas. Basic Tab Field Name A descriptive name given to this time clock. Number The time recorder s internal station number. This number can not be changed. It can be re-issued if a station is removed and re-added. Type The type of station. The only type available is IDpunch 5. 2008 InfoTronics, Inc. Page 1 of 5

Field Serial No. Sync Mode Sync Interval (Mins) Sync Offset (Mins) Log Transactions Log Incorrect Value Rejections The serial number of the time recorder. The serial number is critical because it associates the time recorder with the customer database. The default mode allows the time recorder to initiate communications with the hosting system at a frequency defined by the Sync Interval and Sync Offset values. The number of minutes between clock-initiated synchronization operations. The number of minutes offset from the top of the hour to determine when the sync operation should start. For example, if the Sync Offset is 21, the first synchronization is initiated at 21 minutes past the hour. The Sync Offset balances system load, preventing all synchronizations from occurring simultaneously. When enabled, each transaction is logged in the Station Activity Log. Occasionally the time recorder rejects an attempt to assign an employee to an IDpunch 5 station. This occurs when the: Employee has no biometric templates or PIN number Employee s badge number is greater than 65535 If enabled, all rejections are recorded in the Station Activity Log. IDPunch5 Tab 2008 InfoTronics, Inc. Page 2 of 5

Field Date Format The format of the date presented on the display. Accept New If enabled, this allows new enrollments at the time recorder. Enabling Enrollment this also allows the IDpunch 5 to accept new PIN enrollments made Information without fingerprint templates. Accept New If enabled, the IDpunch 5 goes into a special mode in order to quickly Enrollments as New build a database. In this mode, all new enrollees are added as new Employees employees. The employee is added with the badge number specified in the enrollment. Additional fields are automatically filled in, to be corrected later. For example, if you use the badge number 55555: LastName becomes E55555, FirstName becomes Added, and ID becomes "E55555 Verify Threshold The threshold value while in Verify mode. This determines how accurate the finger reading must be to punch for the employee. A larger number allows a less-accurate match; a smaller number requires a more-accurate match. The current default is 35. Matching Threshold The threshold value while in Identify mode. This determines how accurate the finger reading must be to punch for the employee. A larger number allows a less-accurate match; a smaller number requires a more-accurate match. The current default is 55. Enrolling Threshold The threshold value while in Enrollment mode. This determines how accurate the finger reading must be to enroll the employee. A larger number allows a less-accurate match; a smaller number requires a more-accurate match. The current default is 45. Audible Feedback If enabled, Thank You and Please Try Again responses are played at the time recorder. 1:1 Verify Operation If enabled, time recorder uses Verify mode (PIN and fingerprint required) instead of Identify (just PIN or fingerprint) mode. Repunch Interval The number of minutes in which a re-punch does not create another (mins) transaction, but simply acknowledges the punch. For example, if Joe punches at 9A.M., then forgets whether he punched and punches again at 9:15A.M., the second punch does not become another transaction if the Repunch Interval is 16 minutes. Unlike other time recorders, the IDpunch 5 does not stop the punch attempt. 2008 InfoTronics, Inc. Page 3 of 5

Assignments Tab The Assignments tab presents a list of employees assigned to the clock through their clock group assignment. Even if an employee is assigned to the terminal, he or she cannot become a member of the terminal unless he or she: Has a PIN number or a fingerprint template resident in the time recorder Has badge number less than 65535 When you enroll employees at the time recorder, the menu asks if the employee is a New Enroll. This corresponds with the membership described here. If the employee is not a member, the employee is considered a New Enroll. If the employee is a member, the employee is not considered a New Enroll. For example, if adding Edward Murphy Jr to the time recorder, press OK at the New Enroll prompt, because he is not yet a member of the time recorder (even though he is already assigned to the time recorder). If adding a template for Janet Adolph, press ESC at the New Enroll prompt, because she is a member of the time recorder. Supervisors Tab 2008 InfoTronics, Inc. Page 4 of 5

The Supervisors tab presents a list of employees that have the authority to access the MENU key on the time recorder. Supervisors can enroll other employees or access system setup options. If no supervisors are enrolled in the time recorder, the MENU key is unrestricted and anyone can perform enrollments. Any employee assigned to this station through his or her clock group can be designated a supervisor. The employee can use either a PIN or fingerprint to access the MENU key. Clock members are assigned one of four possible authority levels. Authority Level User Enrollee Admin Supervisor This employee can punch In and Out. No access to the MENU key is allowed. This is the default setting for all employees on the Assignments tab. This employee can enroll other people. An Enrollee can also access MENU items that present terminal statistics. No changes are allowed. This employee can enroll other people. An Admin can also make changes to the setup of the terminal. This employee can enroll other people. A Supervisor can make changes to the setup of the terminal or clear the terminal. Clock Groups Tab The Clock Groups tab displays the clock groups that are allowed to punch at this time recorder. In this example, employees assigned to the Drivers Only and Warehouse Only clock groups in their Personal Information are assigned to the HTTP Clock station. Recent Activity Tab The Recent Activity tab shows the Station Activity Log. The Station Activity Log records activity between the HTTP-based time clock and the system. 2008 InfoTronics, Inc.
