Volume 2, Issue 10 Page 3 General Meeting Minutes October 2, 2003 RAE Association of Erie General Membership Meeting October 2, 2003 Board Members Present: KB3A, N3FAW, N3RKO, N3LBI, NI3Q, N3ZNP, KB3ALU and K3LD Not present: N3BXL Meeting brought to order by President KB3A at 7:02, General Membership Meeting at the EOC. Guest: Steve Miller WA3JJT Secretary s report- K3LD: motion to accept the minutes that were printed in the QuaRae for September Motion: WB8KPE Second N3LBI Treasurer s report- NI3Q given Board of Directors report- N3LBI:.61 battery backup tested with generator worked 4 ½ hours, contesting JOTA, Calif. QSO and PA QSO, elections, water test, old generator and clean up crew AD4UL,N3SRD and WB8KPE. Membership- N3FAW: 148 members for 2003. We have 6 plus 2 during meeting before we have sent out the membership forms Are accepting Visa and Master Card. Anyone who wants to join ARRL and hasn t been a member for 2 years or wants to be a new member go through the club and the club gets $15.00 for each membership. Fundraising: 17 flat screen monitor tickets on sale for 1 ticket for $2.00 and 3 for $5.00. Think of the room it will give your desk. Accepting Visa and Master Card ARES / RACES/Skywarn: N3HPR- n/a QuaRae: KC2HVX Website is coming along. Meeting on Sunday was very helpful. Determined functionality of what we need, domain name picked out, ideas on what would be added like QSL system for QSL cards. Penn State Barren has a organization for non-profit organizations called Partnership Erie for websites which will keep cost down. It will give us the expertise for our website and strength of Penn State. Public Service- N3RKO- A successful season is completed. N3RKO donated a Gonset Radio and 2 glass mount antennas for a raffle for those who participated in the events. Winners are: Gonset Radio: KB3JZL Gene Antennas: KC2HVX and N3NKV Jack thanked everyone who participated for another successful year. WB8KPE thanked Jack for all his work and the Club is very thankful to Jack for his wonderful service for all your time and organization in this area. We couldn t have done it without you. Repeater: / EOC: N3SRD-.82 working very well..61 some complaints on coverage for the Bayfront area. Steve is doing test. AD4UL, N3SRD and WB8KPE tested the emergency power for the new batteries for.61. They are going to do some more testing. Question on linking.61 and.82 Steve is looking for 440 equipment to do that. EOC: AD4UL and N3SRD cleaned up the EOC and threw out a lot of garbage and organized the clubhouse. N3SRD donated a used page scanner and printer.

General Meeting Minutes...continued Contest- KB3A- Nittany Amateur Radio would like a donation for a plaque again this year for PA QSO Motion WB3DOM 2nd KB3B A station will be up for the California QSO (Oct.4 & 5) plus the next weekend the PA QSO (Oct. 11 and 12) Chris would like operators to be available to put through a very good showing for the RAE. The week after October 18 is the JOTA there will be a station set up for that at the EOC. VE- K3LD-. There will be a VE session for anyone interested before the November 6th meeting at 6:00. Please contact N3OCL if interested. They will have monthly sessions but you need to contact them to make arrangements. A suggestion to have meetings for General on Saturdays during the winter for those older people having problems seeing in the dark. Will be considered. Good of the Order: - N3SRD Make sure if you are at the club and leave that the door is closed and secure. - KB3A- N3BXL is working on a packet cluster for the club. It will be able to have more that one person logged on and during emergency events give us a secure site for info.
