Background ETD at UNT Music ETDs Evolution: from physical recording to streaming audio Organization and Access Metadata and Cataloguing Format and Integration Emerging Trends Summary and Conclusion
The University of North Texas (UNT) began accepting theses and dissertations in electronic format in 1999. UNT is one of the first three American universities (or early adopters) of what was to become the ETD movement in higher education The UNT Libraries have been playing an active role in supporting the UNT ETD program by integrating ETDs into the existing digital resources.
Although different disciplines have different ETD structures and requirements, the UNT digital library infrastructure supports aggregating a variety of digital formats. DMA students required to provide digital copies of their DMA recitals Over the past year, the UNT Libraries have put forth great effort in making ETDs more accessible by : Integrating associated parts (such as music recitals) Providing additional methods of access (in multiple formats)
