Welcome to Manitoba Theatre for Young People (or MTYP). We re excited for you to see A Charlie Brown Double Bill. Here s what you can expect when you come and see the show. Enter the theatre through the front door. 1
When you enter the theatre, you will be in the lobby. This is the lobby. There might be lots of other people in the lobby. Some people might be moving around. Some people might be waiting in lines. You might have your tickets already. If you don t, you will pick them up at the box office. 2
You might want to use the washroom or have a drink of water before the show. There are washrooms and a water fountain downstairs and upstairs. You can get upstairs by taking the elevator, or the stairs in the lobby. Here s the entrance to the theatre. When it s time to go in, people called ushers will open the doors. You may have to wait in line to get into the theatre. An usher will rip your ticket and offer you a program. 3
When you enter the theatre, you will hear music playing. This is what the inside of the theatre looks like. Lucy Section Sally Section Live Band Linus Section Snoopy Section The audience is on all four sides of the stage and is divided into four sections: Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, and Sally. You can look at your ticket and see which section you re sitting in, or if you want, an usher will show you which seat is yours. 4
There is a live band between the Linus and Lucy seating sections. Quiet Room Exit Exit Snoopy Section The Snoopy section is away from the band and close to the exits and the Quiet Room. If you would like to switch your seats into the Snoopy section, please call the box office. You can Meet Your Seat on Sunday, December 17th or Friday, December 22nd from 1-2 PM. These are the actors in the show Peter Fernandes is playing Charlie Brown. Nelson Bettencourt is playing Linus Van Pelt. Jillian Willems is playing Lucy Van Pelt. Julie Lumsden is playing Sally Brown. Ari Weinberg is playing Snoopy. These are the musicians in the show Marie-Josee Dandeneau is playing Frieda. She plays the upright bass and the trombone. Ryan Voth is playing Pig Pen. He plays the drums. Paul De Gurse is playing Schroeder. He plays the Piano. 6
The first half of the show is You re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. There will be a short break in the middle. Some people might get up and move. You can stand and stretch and watch the crew shovel the snow. The second half of the show is A Charlie Brown Christmas. Both shows have musical numbers where actors will sing, dance and even skate! 7
If you need to go to the bathroom or take a break during the show, please feel free to do so. An usher can help you exit and reenter the theatre. Please try to be quiet when you return to the theatre. For the Relaxed Performance on December 26th at noon, there will be studios upstairs and downstairs that are available for some quiet time. This is studio #1. (Downstairs) You can come here to take a break. This is studio #3. (Upstairs) You can come here to take a break. 8
We also have a Quiet Room where you can watch the show from. You can see and hear the show from a soundproof room. You can come back into the theatre whenever you like. 9
When the performance is over, you can clap to show the actors and musicians that you enjoyed it! Once the play is over, the audience will leave the theatre and exit into the lobby.
