FILM SCHOOL S SPRING 2018 AUDITIONS SET FOR FEBRUARY 10TH Watkins College of Art will hold a general casting call for Spring 2018 student film projects on Saturday, February 10th, at the Watkins campus in Metro Center. Directors of the BFA and MFA film programs at Watkins will be looking for actors of all ages. Student films are being made under the SAG/AFTRA student film agreement and therefore all current union members are allowed to participate. Actors are asked to bring résumés and head shots for each audition (or a photo can be taken at the reading). Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script (with oncamera readings at the discretion of each director). Casting breakdowns and proposed shoot dates (usually over a 3- day/friday Sunday period or during college spring break) for individual productions will be posted to this page and distributed on site. Audition slots will be divided according to gender and age throughout the day (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Individual appointments are not available. 10 to 11 a.m. Leading men, age range 18-40 11 a.m. to noon Leading and character men, age range 40 and up Noon to 1 p.m. Leading women, age range 18-40 1 to 2 p.m. Leading and character women, age range 40 and up *Unfortunately, we do not have roles for young actors this Spring. Please look for our next audition session in the Fall. NOTE: No overall make-up audition session will be offered. However, after production breakdowns are posted, actors who cannot attend the February 10th casting day may contact specific
directors concerning particular roles. If headshots and résumés are submitted electronically, please include name in file title. All cast members will be invited to a screening of projects at the end of the semester and will have access to an online copy of the film and a quick-time file (without music) to cut into a reel. These films are 3-7 minutes long and are without dialogue. Anyone wanting to participate in these projects, please drop off an additional headshot/resume and come prepared with a 3-minute monologue during the 10AM-2PM audition day. SYNOPSIS: Two couples bump into each other in a motel. After a series of unexpected events, everyone s destiny goes into a different direction. Adam LEAD: A forty-year-old man, who is suffering from the loss of his son. Meanwhile, he has to deal with his wife, who blames him for it on the way to their family reunion. He helps Daisy out and accidentally bumps into her life. Daisy LEAD: A twenty-five-year-old woman, who is abused by her husband. Adam helps her out when she is starving and has nowhere to go. She learns about Adam s pain and sympathizes with him. Barbara SUPPORTING: Adam s wife, a thirty-five-year-old woman, who blames Adam for the loss of her son. Like Adam, she is suffering from it too. Carlos SUPPORTING: Daisy s abusive husband, who is a tall and strong man with a tattoo on his arm. He spends his money in a casino and leaves nothing for his wife. A rude and aggressive person. SYNOPSIS: Blinded by her love for her boyfriend Billy, Sarah struggles to escape an abusive relationship. SARAH LEAD: A young woman trapped in a relentless back and forth with her current boyfriend. Under the belief she can change him, she endures/ enjoys the turmoil he puts her in. Early 20s. BILLY LEAD: A young man who hasn t learned the difference between love and possession. He takes what he wants and gives nothing back. Early 20s. CHRIS - SUPPORTING: Billy s best friend and roommate. An outside perspective of the relationship, he provides a different take on the unfolding events and sways Sarah to do what he thinks is best for her. She continues to stay focused until her whole world is rocked by a young girl named Lizzy who is about to commit suicide. After being on the phone awhile, Jess begins to realize she knows Lizzy.
JESSICA LEAD: A focused independent 30-year-old 911 operator. She has numbed herself to the emergencies on the other side of the phone. Jess can only handle so much till she breaks down. MATT SUPPORTING: Jessica s manager is concerned that Jess has pushed herself too much. A kind gentleman. Voice over Roles: LIZZY - (Voice Actor), (an 18+ to read younger) - 16-year-old young girl who has just had the worst day of her life. She is calm but slowly falling farther off the edge as she makes up her mind to commit suicide POLICE OFFICER- (Voice Actor), Officer talking to dispatch. Giving updates on location.
