1 IS STANDING IN A SLIM SHADY APARTMENT ROOM, STARING OUT A WINDOW AS HE GETS READY FOR WORK. Percy puts on his suit and tie and clasps his DEA badge onto his suit coat, reflecting on his life all the while. What do you know about the streets? I'm DEA. I AM THE STREETS. I'm the one who cleans up this cesspool. Clean it up from people like my father. What kinda cowardly bastard leaves his kid out to rot on the street and die among the crack fiends and the trap lords? He sure loved the water... INT. COMPUTER LAB AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS Percy is shown sitting at a computer, reading an article intently. The camera pans around from the side of his face to reveal an article, the headline reading "Michael Phelps brought up on marijuana possession charges". His monologue continues from where it left off....but drugs were his downfall. So where did that leave me? Up the creek, I suppose. so I joined the DEA, and tried to make a difference. INT. OF THE POLICE CHIEF'S OFFICE. Percy is sitting directly across from the chief at his desk. Percy is sitting forward in his chair eagerly, hinging on the new case the chief is giving him. CHIEF KEEF Listen, Percy, there's trouble on Styx Street. I've gotten 18 missing person reports in two months. And we've been finding the victims' bodies in the river. Their all missing their heads. [pause] The thing is we've gotten no reports of violence and there hasn't been any reports of gang activity there for a year. [pause] Now, while the cause of death is obvious, all the autopsies show (MORE)
2 CHIEF KEEF (CONT'D) intoxicating levels of THC. So they were stoned when they died? CHIEF KEEF Exactly, but getting high doesn't lead to murder, and all the victims have been seen frequenting Styx Street. So that means the murderer lives on or near Styx Street... CHIEF KEEF Exactly. So I need you to get down there, talk to the neighborhood, see what you can dig up, try an' find this drug connection. Alright, I'll get down there, Chief. EXT. OUTSIDE OF A SMALL MINI MART AT NIGHT Percy is standing against a white brick wall. He glances back and forth before checking the time on his phone. Suddenly, he looks up as a suspicious looking individual enters the frame. Look, we gotta make this quick. What have you got for me? ONE-EYED INFORMANT Styx street, right? Yeah, I heard about that. You should check out number 714. That's pretty vague. Anything else? ONE-EYED INFORMANT Bring sunglasses. The informant walks away quickly, and Percy is left looking confused. A few seconds later, he walks away. EXT. STYX STREET
3 Percy approaches house number 702 and rings the doorbell. He is wearing an obvious pair of sunglasses and a skeptical expression on his face. He waits in front of the door for several seconds, before a woman opens it. She, too, is wearing sunglasses and a towel wrapped around her hair. Excuse me... Ma'am? I'm sorry, am I catching you at a bad time? Oh, no, honey I was taking my brownies out of the oven. What can I do for you? Actually, miss, I'm officer Percy Phelps with the DEA, and I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions. Of course, why don't you come in? [Percy enters the house] INT. 'S MODEST HOUSE She leads him into the kitchen and serves him a brownie, which he doesn't eat, instead placing it politely on a napkin on the kitchen counter. So I'm sure you've heard of the recent string of disappearances occurring in this area? Yes, actually I'm very glad that the police are getting on this. I've lost a couple friends to the bastard who's been doing this. I'm sorry to hear that. Did any of THESE friends happen to have a history of MARIJUANA use? 4 (CONT'D) Heads ourselves (chuckles). But I'm not going to lie about them, as long as it's helping track down their killer. [Percy's face shows suspicion that she said killer] Thank you...do you know of any reason that someone would want them...dead? Medusa walks out of the room. But can still be heard. They were just a bunch of kids trying to have fun, they never got into trouble or anything. All the victims had high levels of THC in their bodies at the time of death,[pause] that means they were high when they died. [To Himself] Who would kill a bunch of random strangers in such a barbaric manner? Have you been able to find a weapon used to decapitate them? No I haven't, but [pause] how did you know that they where decapitated? Oh... Well you know... people talk... No the police kept this under raps, we never released all the evidence, and I never mentioned it to you... Oh, look at that, what a bad host I am, I forgot to get you some milk. Medusa looks into the fridge
5 CONT. Look at that, I'm out of milk up here, I'll have to go downstairs to the fridge and get some more. Medusa awkwardly moves to the basement door, and goes in. [OFF SCREEN] [Shouting] Ouch, officer, ah, I have fallen and I can't get up! Can I get a hand, please? Percy goes into the basement and there is smoke everywhere. Where are you? Damn, I can't see anything in here. Hey, what's that smell? [OFF SCREEN] Can you feel it, Percy? The smoke slowly invading your lungs? Slowly fogging your vision, clouding your mind. Percy continues descending and is walking around in the dark basement. You... You killed all those people, didn't you? Why?! [OFF SCREEN] I used to be like them, like you; clean, happy, beautiful, innocent. then I met a boy. I was crazy about him, little did I know about his extra legal affairs. [pause] I got into drugs because of him. I hated him, and myself, but I couldn't leave. I was addicted. When they cleaned up the streets two years ago, they took him to prison, but not me. Even with him gone, I couldn't get clean; when people see me, they don't see the victim little girl, [she takes on a darker tone] they only saw a junkie! Medusa jumps out of the shadows to attack Percy from behind, but he sees her in a mirror and dodges her attack, throwing
6 Medusa to the ground. Percy jumps on top of her and repeatedly punches her in the face. He eventually stops and gets up and stands over her as she cackles darkly. Fade to Black You sick, twisted, old hag! You killed all those innocent people, just because you were jealous? I'm the type of person you swore to protect, made into a monster you swore to destroy. Sleep good tonight, kid. I'm a DEA agent, and you're under arrest bitch!
