Center Stage Youth Choirs Audition acket For 20172018 Season
June 7, 2017 Dear Music arents: Since 1982, Center Stage Youth Choirs, (formerly the Youth Honors Choral rogram,) has taught children the art joy of singing beautifully. CSYC are dedicated nurturing the voices of young singers, help them develop a sense of artistry, a sense of responsibility of ensemble, encourage a lifelong love of singing the choral arts. Eligibility: The CSYC is open students entering grades 8 in the fall of 2017. Singers should have intune, unchanged singing voices, must be dependable for making all rehearsals performances, must be able stay on task for the duration of a rehearsal. Groups/Rehearsals/erformances: Lyrica & Bel Can: Grades 5 8 approx 50 60 singers Tuesday 4:0 6:00* Bel Can: A breakout group of the best singers from Lyrica, rehearses alone for part of the rehearsal. relude: Grades 5 two groups of approx. 25 singers each Tuesday 4:0 5:10 OR 5:20 6:00* erformances: December 1, 2017 & April 25, 2018 *Once a month we combine groups rehearse from 4:0 6:0pm (relude from 5:0pm 6:0pm). These extended rehearsal dates will be noted on the calendar publid for participants in September. ALL students must be dependable for making ALL rehearsals performances. articipation in performances is dependent on attendance. Auditions by appointment: DATE: September 5 from 4:0pm 6:00pm, September 6 from 4:0pm 6:00pm, September 7 from 6:00pm 8:00pm960 LACE: Midl Center for the Arts Lecture Room (September 5) Midl Center for the Arts Rehearsal Room A (September 6 & 7) Audition Times MUST be scheduled in advance by emailing Katy Gaertner at gaertner@mcfta.org (preferred) or by calling at 989 61 590 x1245 (lease include in email: Child s name, grade they are entering in September 2017, previous choir if any.) FORMAT: Students will audition in groups of 4. The goal is see independence in singing, ability blend the voice, the ability work well in a group.
relude: Warm up check vocal range Echo sing (alone) two or three short melodic lines (1 2 measures) Sing America (My Country tis of Thee) in small group (4 singers) Sing Are You Sleeping in small group as 2 part canon Lyrica & Bel Can: Warm up check vocal range Sing, with three ot students, The Sea Witch. Tuition: Lyrica & Bel Can $170 per year relude $10 per year Te is a 10% discount for families with multiple children in the CSYC. Half of tuition is due upon acceptance in a choir. The balance is due one week prior our first rehearsal. Families are responsible for the cost of the child s uniform: t shirt, tuxedo shirt, black shoes, black pants (boys) or black long skirt (girls). Uniform pieces are typically ordered through the CSYC at the beginning of the new season. Scholarships are available through the MCFTA Art from the Heart scholarship program.
