The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) is a nonprofit institution which exists to foster awareness, exploration and understanding of the significant art of our time. Through excellence and diversity in our exhibitions and educational programs, MOCA stimulates individual thinking and dialogue throughout the community. This architectural-award-winning facility consists of three primary rental spaces: an atrium, a 268-seat auditorium, and the Rodriguez Pavilion, plus galleries featuring a variety of contemporary art. This combination of contemporary style and fine art creates a dramatic backdrop for any special event, including parties, weddings, conferences, and meetings. MOCA can also host a variety of performing arts events. MOCA is conveniently located in the heart of the Virginia Beach resort district, just six blocks from the oceanfront on Parks Avenue and I-264. The Museum is also directly across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center and the Visitor s Center. Two parking areas provide free, on-site parking. All areas are handicap accessible. Whether you re hosting an intimate affair for close friends or a business function for several hundred guests, MOCA offers a high-class setting, first-rate service, and competitive rates. STYLE AND ART PRICE AUDITORIUM RGB Imaging rodriguez pavilion This beautiful addition showcases a sparkling 16-foot Dale Chihuly chandelier, which shines as a beacon for your event or reception. The 1,600-square-foot space is versatile and equipped with a separate outdoor entrance, a coat check area, restrooms and a catering prep area. atrium The expansive 4,800 square-foot atrium features a vaulted ceiling, skylight, mahogany trim, and live trees. A flexible floor plan can accommodate an intimate event for 35 or an extravagant gala for 350. New LED-colored lights add an element of surprise and sophistication to your event. Guests can easily access our state of the art gallery space through two sets of glass doors in the Atrium. Regularly-changing exhibitions feature painting, sculpture, photography, glass, video and other visual media from internationally acclaimed artists, as well as artists of national and regional renown. price auditorium Our 268-seat theater-style auditorium space is complete with stage, dimmable lights, automated curtains, 30' x 15' projection screen, mounted projector with Blu-Ray for PowerPoint or films, and a sound system. Two hand held wireless microphones, three wired microphones and presentation clickers are provided for business presentations and panel discussions. MODERN ELEGANCE galleries Admission to most exhibitions is included with venue rental fee. Access to the galleries may be restricted or require an additional fee. sculpture garden Changing exhibitions grace the Jessica Glasser and Larry Mednick Sculpture Garden. This elegant backdrop for outdoor parties or pictures was made possible by generous donations from Richard and Martha Glasser and The Norfolk Foundation. grounds Virginia MOCA is nestled among the trees on over eight acres of parklike grounds, maintained year-round with seasonal flowers and trees by the City of Virginia Beach. A wooden bridge, brick stage and thick greenery provide elegant backdrops for individual and group photography. GROUNDS catering kitchens A professional kitchen adjacent to the Atrium is available for use by licensed caterers of your choice. An additional prep kitchen is adjacent to the Rodriguez Pavilion.
