6 CONFIGURING VIDEO DISPLAY 6.1 Windows 7 The USB to HDMI Adapter drivers allow for all adjustments through the built-in Display Settings window. These settings can be accessed by right-clicking on the Windows Desktop and selecting Screen Resolution or by right-clicking on the USB to HDMI Adapter icon in the system tray and selecting Change Display Settings. Select the physical display you wish to change the settings on, from the Display drop down menu. Display Modes (Extension, or Mirroring), resolution and rotation can be changed from this screen. 6
6.2 Mac OS The Mac OS system uses the external HDTV as an extension by default. You have to drag your window on your desktop all the way to cross your display edge and then it will display this window on your external HDTV. Alternatively, you may set the external HDTV to a mirror display as your Mac book monitor. You may use your F7 key to activate mirror display. Or you can also slowly set your Mac to mirror display via Display Preference Panes: 1. With your TV connected to your Mac, Open Apple System Preferences. 2. Select 'Displays' with its big blue screen icon 3. Go under 'Arrangement' section 4. Check the Mirror Displays checkbox 7 CONFIGURING AUDIO OUTPUT As Windows and Mac OS will only support one audio output at a time, by default audio comes out via the default sound card from the computer speakers. If you wish audio to output from HDMI instead of computer speakers, then you must manually change the default audio. Even if you install multiple USB to HDMI adapters, the sound can be designated to only one connected adapter. 7.1 Windows 7 You manually change the default audio device from the Hardware and Sound settings in the Control Panel. First locate Control Panel and search for Sound. Then click on Manage audio devices. Choose Playback tab. Set C-Media USB Headphone Set as Default Device. 7
7.2 Mac OS With your TV connected to your Mac, Open Apple System Preferences. Select 'Sound' with a speaker icon. Choose C-Media USB Headphone Set instead of built-in speaker as your audio outlet 8
