TERM ONE PERFORMING ARTS MUSIC Individual Lessons Students may take individual lessons during normal school hours in flute, clarinet, saxophone, drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano and/or voice. The cost for an individual lesson is $32 per week. To enrol, complete and return an enrolment form available from the Music Department, Allan Shaw Office. Once students learning an instrument (includes voice) have reached an appropriate standard of performance, they are encouraged to join the Choir, Instrumental Ensemble or the Rock Bands. Monday to Friday between 7:40am and 3:30pm K - 12 Allan Shaw Music s and $32/wk Group Lessons Students may take group lessons during normal school hours (subject to availability) in flute, clarinet, saxophone, drums, guitar, bass guitar and/or voice (singing). The cost for group lessons is $16 per week. To enrol, complete and return an enrolment form available from the Music Department, Allan Shaw Office. It is strongly recommended that students undertake individual lessons. For some instruments/teachers, group lessons may be available. We suggest you contact the Music Department if you are considering group lessons. Once students learning an instrument (includes voice) have reached an appropriate standard of performance, they are expected to join the Choir, Instrumental Ensemble or the Rock Bands. Monday to Friday between 7:40am and 3:30pm K - 12 Allan Shaw Music s and $16/wk Instrumental Ensemble The Instrumental Ensemble is available to Year 5 7 students who are playing a woodwind instrument including flute, clarinet and saxophone. Fun weekly rehearsals in the Music Classroom, where the students get introduced to a variety of music styles such as contemporary, jazz and Western art. Please note that students should have been learning their instruments for a minimum of three terms before joining this ensemble. 5-7 Music Choir Open to students who enjoy singing contemporary and fun songs. Weekly rehearsals with the opportunity to perform at various concerts and events throughout the year, both at and within the community. Students who are taking lessons on an instrument are strongly encouraged to join the Choir to strengthen their musicianship. Monday 2:30 3:20pm Music Rock Bands To play/sing in Rock Bands, students must be having lessons in one or more of the following: singing, bass guitar, guitar, drums or piano. It is envisaged that we will have several bands, each playing with guidance from one or more specialist contemporary music teachers. There will also be performance opportunities. DRAMA Those students who have a special interest in the Performing Arts or being part of a live production are encouraged to participate in Sub- productions. SPORTS PROGRAMME The Sports Programme is designed to improve your skills and fitness and provide an opportunity to partake in a team sport. It also provides the experience of competition through one day carnivals where teams will have the opportunity to compete against other schools while encouraging fun through sport and exercise. Advanced Running Club For those students who are keen to improve their running, join Mr Senior with early morning training, maintaining your fitness level throughout the year. Be sure to pack in an extra snack for recess time. Monday 7:15 7:50am Steps South Oval Tennis If you love tennis, come along and enjoy some short tennis games. Racquets are supplied by the school, just bring along your hat and drink bottle. Northern Courts NIPSSA Swimming Students will be pre-selected for this activity. Training will take place at the Arena. Please note: No transport is provided by the. 3:15 Arena Joondalup TBA T-Ball For all students who enjoy the game, come to T-Ball to develop your skills and have fun with others! South Oval

Advanced Art Advanced Art is for students who have an interest in art and the desire to strengthen their abilities in drawing. Students will be given the opportunity to draw faces, figures, animals, landscapes and stilllife drawing, using a variety of materials such as pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, chalk, ink and pen. Art $10.00 Chess Club Come along to the PMACS Chess Club and learn the art of chess. All are welcome from beginners to Grand Masters. In this activity you will learn the finer points to playing and winning a chess game. It has been said that 'a life without playing chess is like a life without listening to music'. Chernev Library ChiBall These Tai Chi movements are simple to follow and are designed to restore balance to the mind and body. Students use different coloured, aromatherapy infused Chiballs, in conjunction with the gentle exercise, to promote better health and well-being. STEM/Music $35 Per Student Scrapbooking Come along and join in the fun and turn your photos into works of art. You will love looking at and showing off your photo albums to family and friends. Students are to bring their own album. 5.3 $25/ BYO Album Model Making Tanks, Planes, Warhammer - all of these models and more are under construction during model making. Tips and tricks available for the beginner or the professional. Students can select a model to build from a range that the school has purchased. T & E C1.5 $40 Per 2 models. Food for Fun Join us in the kitchen for a hands-on learning experience! Students will be able to take home their creations each week and the cost of this activity goes towards the purchase of ingredients and also the container to take it home. Students may only select this activity ONCE during the Year. 4:30pm 5-7 Senior Food $25 per term Science Club Do you like performing experiments, blowing things up and investigating cool Science ideas? You will get to design some of the fun investigations, as well as attempting to complete some brain teasing Science problems! WARNING: ONLY TRUE SCIENCE NERDS NEED TO APPLY. Students can only select this activity ONCE a year. 5.1 $10 Per

Chess Club Come along to the PMACS Chess Club and learn the art of chess. All are welcome from beginners to Grand Masters. In this activity you will learn the finer points to playing and winning a chess game. It has been said that 'a life without playing chess is like a life without listening to music'. Chernev 3.00-4.00pm Library Designer Doodling Get creative, come along and learn how to doodle. Turn a blank piece of paper into your own individual masterpiece. Use your skills to decorate cover pages, cards or any other blank canvas. 3.00-4.00pm 3.1 KodeKLIX Coding Engineers Aspiring to be an engineer? Receive your own KodeKLIX set and use it to creatively program electronic circuits. Students must have attended Computer Coding for Kids or be in Year 5-7 and able to code in Scratch or Blockly before enrolling for KodeKLIX. 5-7 Academic Extension $55 Per (includes KodeKLIX kit to keep after sessions). Archery Would you like to learn archery? We are very lucky to have this activity run by a professional archery instructor. Places are limited so enrol on-line as soon as possible. 3.00-4.15pm 4-12 South Oval $110 Zumba! The Zumba Kids program is the ultimate dance-fitness party for primary aged Zumba fans. It is an awesome, rockin' class full of easy to learn dances, games, activities and FUN! Come and join in the Memory Dance, Bust A Move, Dance Battle and Shining Star! The last session of each term is a PARTY with dance games and prizes! Gymnasium $80.00 Mindfulness Mindfulness is increasingly recognised as an effective way to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, enhance emotional intelligence and effectively handle painful thoughts and feelings. 4.1 Model Making Tanks, Planes, Warhammer - all of these models and more are under construction during model making. Creative Crafts This club offers students the opportunity to create a variety of interesting crafts for all occasions such as soft toys, paintings, bag designs, birthday gifts and many other fun items. The aim of this activity is to learn new skills, be creative and have fun. The cost of this activity goes toward fabric, paints and construction materials. 1.2 $12 Golf Learn to play golf at Carramar Golf Course with a professional. Lessons cover all areas of golf with students working on the driving range and practice greens as well as getting out on the course to play some rounds of golf. It is open to all ages and skill levels. Please note: Parents are responsible for transporting students to the Golf Course. Golf will only be available in 1 and 4. 3:30-4:30pm Carramar Golf Course $90.00 Watercolour Pencil Colouring Make gorgeous colouring-in works of art ready for framing or card making with watercolour pencils. Use ours, bring yours or draw your own masterpieces. Build you own collection of colourful creations. 3:00 - Senior Library $5 Per Future Fit Improve your general fitness, flexibility, stability, strength and mobility in a fun environment. This programme includes bootcamp style training with some boxing. South Oval $56 Per Minecraft Club If you love playing minecraft and would like to share your tips with fellow students and take part in joint challenges and explorations then this is the place for you! You will need to have an operational subscription (PC not X-box or Ipad) to minecraft ($25) and be willing to teach and learn from others. Library Orienteering The Map Reading Sport Orienteering is not only a fun and enjoyable sport, it also provides valuable life skills including: Mental challenges: decision making and map reading; Confidence: in your ability to problem solve and navigate; Physical Activity: builds general fitness and stamina; Excitement: the fun of a treasure hunt; Team building: working together. 4.00pm Meet in the Olive Grove Computer Coding for Kids Computer Coding for Kids introduces students to the basics of Computer programming by creating basic codes to command animated characters to solve problems. Using Apple Ipads and Mac computers, students will enjoy the freedom to create and troubleshoot. 4-6 Academic Extension Indonesian Festival Planning Committee Come and be a part of the planning committee for the Integrated Indonesian, Art and Music Festival.
