By fcusing n bjects using varius lenses, filters and light surces, phtgraphers may demnstrate the use f phtgraphic techniques cnventinally r digitally. Reflect n the 2015-2016 Theme: Let Yur Imaginatin Fly Accepted frms f phtgraphy include: A single pht, panramic, phtmntage (ne seamless print f multiple riginal phts), a multiple expsure, negative sandwich r phtgram. Original black-and-white and clr images are accepted. Nn-accepted frms f phtgraphy include: Entries with added graphics ver the image, including lettering, are nt accepted. Original film (negatives r transparencies) and multidimensinal pieces are nt accepted. Cnsider use f bjects, lighting and the lcatin t shw a clear relatin f the pht t the theme. Student Eligibility. The Natinal PTA Special Artist Divisin is an ptin fr students with disabilities wh receive services under IDEA r Sectin 504 t have the pprtunity and accmmdatins they may need in rder t participate fully in the prgram. The Special Artist Divisin ffers mdified rules and guidelines t ensure that every student has the chance t be part f the Natinal PTA Reflectins prgram. Wh qualifies as a disabled individual under the law? The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines an individual with a disability as a persn wh: (1) Has a physical r mental impairment that substantially limits ne r mre f the majr life activities f that persn; (2) Has a recrd f such an impairment; r (3) Is regarded as having such impairment. Student Entry Prcess: Students wh identify as having a disability have tw ways t enter the Natinal PTA Reflectins Prgram. Optin 1: Enter in Traditinal Grade Divisins: Regardless f age, students with special needs may enter in the grade divisin mst clsely aligned t their functinal abilities. Students may nt receive assistance ther than that which is allwed fr all children. The divisins are as fllws: Primary (preschl grade 2); Intermediate (grades 3-5); Middle Schl (grades 6-8); High Schl (grades 9-12). Students are recgnized and awarded prizes as part f the general student ppulatin withut regard t special needs r challenges. Optin 2: Enter in Special Artist Divisin: Qualifying students entering the Special Artist Divisin create their wn artwrk, but may receive nn-artistic accmmdatin and assistance frm an adult. Writing, editing r interpreting a student s artist statement, stry, petry r script. Chregraphing a dance, cmpsing music r writing lyrics. Drawing, painting r persnally creating a visual arts submissin, chsing a camera angle, etc. The Special Artist Divisin f the Natinal PTA Reflectins prgram is ptinal at state and lcal levels. Please check with yur state PTA regarding availability in yur state f residence.

VISUAL ARTS include many art frms that are visual in nature. The artist (student submitting entry) is a persn wh captures their wn thughts and ideas t create a visual piece f art. Accepted frms f visual art include: Architecture (2D/3D), carpentry, ceramics, cllages, phtgraphic cllages (multiple phts cut/pasted), cmputer-generated image, crafts, design, diramas, drawing, fiber wrk, jewelry, kites, metal etching/punch wrk, mbiles, painting, printmaking, sculpture and wind chimes. Must include packaging materials and 3 phts f the entry (a cmbinatin f angles) fr judging and ID purpses (entries that require assembling/repairing frm transprting will be disqualified).
