MCI 5 TH ANNIVERSARY Music Confucius Institute celebrates its 5 th anniversary. On 16 June five years ago, a cooperation agreement between the Royal Danish Academy of Music and Central Conservatory of Music was signed at an impressive ceremony marking the establishment of MCI. Through the course of these five years, MCI has worked to bridge Chinese and Western music, and thus create a better understanding of Chinese music and culture. Through a great variety of activities, MCI has been engaged in including both contemporary and traditional Chinese music in Danish music education on all levels. We mark the anniversary not only with a splendid concert featuring several new pieces, including Drømdæ mik æn drøm for guitars and dizi by composer John Frandsen, but also with a photo exhibition showing the highlights of the past five years. In addition, we would like to invite our guests to light refreshments in the Studio Foyer at 15:00 (after the first concert). This is our way of saying thank you for supporting us throughout the last five years!
