Labeling Your Cables Use the labels provided to complete this step. Do not remove any cables from the receiver being replaced until Step 2. a. Attach the blue label to the cables connected to the "Satellite In" port. Your Satellite In connection will look like one of the following images. DC & DiSEqC ASS LUS or LUS INUT b. 1. Labeling Your Cables (Cont d) c. For your audio/video connection, you will either use an HDMI cable, Ybr cables, or RCA cables. Attach either the black label to the cable connected to the HDMI port, the orange label to the cables connected to the RCA ports, or the red label to the cables connected to the Ybr ports. Connecting the Cables to Your Replacement Receiver a. Connect the Satellite In cables to the "Satellite In" ports and connect the Home Distribution cables to the "Home Distribution" port on the replacement receiver. Your Satellite In and Home Distribution connection will look like one of the following images. DC & DiSEqC ASS LUS or INUT LUS b. Connect either the HDMI cable, YbR cables, or RCA cables from the TV to the corresponding port(s) on the replacement receiver. c. Connect the Ethernet cable to the "Ethernet" port on the replacement receiver. You may not have this cable.

Connect the remote antenna to the "Remote Antenna" port on the replacement receiver. HONE HONE f. Open the panel on the front of the new receiver and make sure the Smart Card is secured firmly in the slot. Not all receivers will have a Smart Card. 4. owering Your Equipment a. Make sure your TV cord is plugged into the wall outlet and turn on your TV. b. lug the power cord from the new receiver into a wall outlet. c. Your screen should now display the rogram TV1 Remote to Receiver screen. If you do not see this screen, confirm that you are on the correct input for watching DISH. Check the input by pressing the Source/Input button located on the side, back, or front of your TV.

5. rogramming Your Remote Control a. Follow the on-screen instructions to program your remote(s) to the replacement receiver. b. Once you have completed the on screen steps, use the arrow buttons on your remote control to highlight "Save" and then press the SELECT button on your remote control. c. If you have a second remote for your TV2, follow the on-screen instructions to program your second remote to the replacement receiver. If you do not have a second remote, use the arrow buttons on your remote control to highlight "Continue" and then press the SELECT button on your remote control. d. Once you have completed the on screen steps for your second remote, use the arrow buttons on your remote control to highlight "Continue" and then press the SELECT button on your remote control.

6. Downloading the Receiver Software a. Your receiver will automatically start the software download. b. Once your software download is complete, your receiver will automatically start updating the receiver.

7. Setting Your TV Configuration a. Using your remote control, follow the on-screen instructions to set the proper channel for your TV2. Use the arrow buttons on your remote control to highlight "Save" and then press the SELECT button on your remote control. b. Using your remote control, follow the on-screen instructions to set the video resolution based on the TV type that you are using. Use the arrow buttons on your remote control to highlight "Save" and then press the SELECT button on your remote control. c. Using the arrows on your remote control, highlight "Continue" and then press the SELECT button on your remote control to test the Ethernet connection. Repeat this process to test the phone connection.

8. Activating Your Replacement Receiver a. Wait while the activation process begins. b. Have your account number, receiver number, and Smart Card number ready. Using the number buttons on your remote enter in your receiver number along with your account number and zip code. Then highlight "Continue" and press SELECT. c. Using the arrow buttons on your remote, highlight "Live TV" and press SELECT.

8. Activating Your Replacement Receiver (Cont d) d. Wait while your satellite signal is acquired. e. Wait while your program guide downloads. f. Once your program guide downloads, your screen will display live TV.

9. Returning Your Original Receiver Find your model number located on the back of your original receiver. Your model name may appear with letters in front or behind the number; such as Vi, Xi, or Zi. If your model number appears below, continue following Step 9 "Returning Your Original Receiver."
