Romantic Period 19th century is know as the Romantic Period exact dates of romanticism vary - 1820-1900 often given in music history - 1827-1900 (1827 is death of Beethoven) - 1800-1900 the change of style is gradual romantic traits stretch back into the late 1700s (recall Sturm und Drang)
