Interfaces and Sync Processors Kramer Electronics has a full line of video, audio and sync interfaces. The group is divided into two sections Format Interfaces and Video Sync Processors. The Format Interface products include:! Video Decoders: These machines are used to decode (convert) a Composite video signal to Y/C and to decode a Composite or Y/C signal to RGBS or Y, R-Y, B-Y.! Video Encoders: Video Encoders create a Chrominance signal from video components, e.g., they are used to convert RGBS and/or Y, R-Y and B-Y signals to Composite Video and Y/C.! Video Transcoders: The Video Transcoders are bi-directional converters operating simultaneously - converting between RGBS and Y, R-Y and B-Y in both directions in the same machine, or going from Composite to Y/C bi-directionally.! Audio Transcoders: Used in audio and video production studios for converting from unbalanced low-level audio to balanced high-level audio, bi-directionally. The Video Sync Processors include:! Video Sync Generators : The machines in this category generate standard video sync and black burst for studio genlock.! Video Sync Converters: The machines in this category convert between the different sync formats - Composite, separate H & V syncs; and Analog or TTL level. Sync to Green adding and Separating is also done by a machine in this category.! Video Sync Restorers: These machines restore and re-build lost or distorted sync signals, and full black burst signals. Applications: # Conversion between different video and audio formats, to easily link elements of studio hardware. # Chroma Key generation from different video sources. # Special color effects generation and color correction. # Color Bar generation, genlocked to input Black Burst. # Sync stabilization, restoration and conversion in a video studio. Video Black Burst Restorer SG-9 The Kramer SG-9 is a video black burst restorer designed to strip sync and color burst from a composite video signal, then regenerate it at the output using high quality generators. It is ideal for stabilizing video sources which have corrupted or missing horizontal and vertical sync pulses or color burst. In many cases the SG-9 can be used instead of a time base corrector and, if a TBC is required, the SG-9 can enhance its operation. In addition to the restored video output, a sync output is provided for genlocking and other uses. Note that the SG-9 requires an incoming signal in order to operate, it should not be used as a stand-alone sync or burst generator. The SG-9 is dependable, rugged, and can be rack mounted using the optional RK-MED kit, which holds one unit in two vertical spaces of a standard 19 rack. 1 composite video 1Vpp/75 Ω on a BNC. 1 restored composite video 1Vpp/75 Ω on a BNC. Composite sync, TTL level unloaded, 2Vpp/75 Ω loaded, on a BNC. VIDEO BANDWIDTH: 35 MHz -1dB. DIFF. GAIN: 0.8%. DIFF. PHASE: 0.5 Deg. K-FACTOR: 0.1%. MAX. SIGNAL OUTPUT: 2Vpp/75 Ω. Sync-Green Adder/Separator SG-11 The Kramer SG-11 Sync to Green Adder / Separator interfaces between two of the most widely used professional component video formats, RGsB and RGBS. In many video studios and production applications there is a need to convert from one format to the other, and the Kramer SG- 11 is the perfect choice - as it operates simultaneously in both directions. 1 Green 0.7Vpp/75 Ω, One Sync 0.3Vpp/75 Ω on BNCs. 1 Sync on Green 1Vpp/75 Ω on a BNC. 1 Sync on Green 1Vpp/75 Ω on a BNC. 1 Green 0.7Vpp/75 Ω, One Sync 1Vpp/75 Ω on BNCs. CONTROLS: Output sync tip DC level selector switch (rear). VIDEO BANDWIDTH: 21 MHz -3dB. NON LINEARITY: Less than 1%. MAX. SIGNAL OUTPUT: 2Vpp/75 Ω. G S/N RATIO: Better than 73 db. 24.5cm x 18cm x 4.5cm (9.6" x 7" x 1.8", W, D, H.) 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz, (115VAC, U.S.A.) 4.1 VA. 2.9 Kg. (6.4 Lbs.) Approx. Power cord. Black Burst/Bar Generator SG-6003B The Kramer SG-6003B is a broadcast quality black burst and color bar generator for video studio applications. It provides three identical black burst outputs, a color subcarrier output, a color bar output, and two 1 khz, crystal stabilized audio outputs. State-of-the-art technology is used throughout the SG-6003B including crystal controlled oscillators for sync and Chroma, and highly accurate internal sync/subcarrier genlock, both with long term stability. The number of outputs may be increased by using a Kramer distribution amplifier such as the VM-1010, VM-1015, VM-1021 etc. 3 black burst signals, 0.3 Vpp/75 Ω, (sync) 1 color bar output 1Vpp/75Ω, 1 subcarrier output, 1Vpp/75 Ω on BNC connectors. Two audio tone @ 1kHz, 1Vpp/100Ω outputs on RCA connectors. COLOR BAR SATURATION: Preset to 75%, may be ordered at 100%. PHASE ERROR: Less than 1 degree. SYNC OSCILLATOR: Crystal controlled. SC OSCILLATOR: Crystal controlled. SYNC/SC: Fully Genlocked. STABILITY: Better than 50 PPM. 19 inch (W), 7 inch (D), 1U (H) rack mountable. 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz, (115VAC, U.S.A.) 5.7 VA. 2.4 Kg. Black Burst/Bar Generator SG-6005 The Kramer SG-6005 is a broadcast quality multi-standard black burst, color bar, sync and audio generator designed for a variety of video studio applications. It is exceptionally full featured, offering six identical black burst outputs, a color bar output, a user programmable color matte, horizontal and vertical sync outputs, as well as balanced and unbalanced 1 khz, crystal stabilized audio outputs. The unit maybe genlocked to an external video reference or it may operate as a stand-alone generator based on its high precision timing components. It uses digital synthesis technology for signal generation and allows full SCH/Phase control, delay of output relative to the genlock input and additional delay of the sync outputs. The SG-6005 may be RS-232 controlled from a PC, and firmware is easily upgraded using a computer. The required SCH/Phase shifts and delay may be displayed on a large seven-segment LED display. The number of outputs may be increased by using a Kramer video distribution amplifier like the VM-1010, VM-1015, or VM-1021, etc. INPUT: COLOR BAR: CONTROLS: PHASE ERROR: SYNC OSCILLATOR: SC OSCILLATOR: SYNC/SC: STABILITY: OPTIONS: 1 composite video, looping, 1Vpp /75Ω, on BNCs with a termination switch. 6 black burst signals, 0.3 Vpp/75 Ω, (sync) 1 color bar output 1Vpp/75Ω, 2x 1kHz, +4dBm/47Ω outputs on XLRs, 2x 1kHz, 1Vpp/100Ω outputs, RCAs. 13 selectable patterns.
