Prior to the play we will enjoy a hot lunch. The Passion Play begins at 2:30pm this afternoon and the first part ends at 5:30pm. During the intermission we will enjoy a hot dinner. The Passion Play resumes at 8pm and concludes at 10:30pm, after which we will shuttled back to our hotel Continued

Thu 01 THE HOPE LUTHERAN OBERAMMERGAU and THE PASSION PLAY, continued The history of the Oberammergau Passion Play begins in 1633. During the Thirty Years' War, after much suffering and also many deaths caused by the plague, the surviving population of Oberammergau vowed that they would perform the "play of the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ" every ten years if they were spared from extinction. At Whitsun in 1634 they kept their promise for the first time. As early as the middle of the 18th century spectators came to Oberammergau from all parts of Germany, attracted by the great power and mystique of the play. In 2010 the village will perform the play for the 41st time, maintaining the continuity of this unique world famous event. We are fortunate to have acquired the very best seats (1A) to witness this amazing testament of faith in our Lord. July Fri 02 OBERAMMERGAU TO MUNICH, NEUSCHWANSTEIN & MUNICH SIGHTSEEING OPTION This morning after breakfast, we leave our once-in-a-lifetime Oberammergau Passion Play experience for a visit to King Ludwigs story-book Neuschwanstein Castle enroute to Munich! Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public. The shy king had built the castle in order to withdraw from public life - now vast numbers of people come to view his private refuge. Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular of all the palaces and castles in Europe. Every year 1.3 million people visit "the castle of the fairy-tale king" Our coach brings us to our Munich hotel to check-in, after which you are free to explore and enjoy the incredible city of Munich. Munich Sightseeing Tour Option All Munich s highlights in one City Tour: The approximately 2 hour sightseeing tour offers you sights like the Schloss Nymphenburg, the Olympic Area and the historical City Centre. Get to know the cosmopolitan city of Munich during the 2 hour tour from the upper deck of our open top bus, where you ll have an unhindered view of the most important and beautiful sights of Munich - the friendly city with heart!

Sat 03 THE HOPE LUTHERAN FLIGHT TO BRUSSELS, TRAIN TO GHENT, OPTIONS This morning we ll take the train to Munich s Franz Joseph Strauss airport to depart on our SN Brussels Airlines for a morning flight to Brussels, Belgium. On arrival in Belgium, we ll take a train from Brussels airport to Ghent, then tram to our hotel to drop off our luggage. (We ll check in later this afternoon from 3pm) You ll then have the option of independently exploring Ghent and the magnificent castle, cathedral or museums. Ghent was the seat of the counts of Flanders whose great Gravensteen Castle is a must visit. Begin your exploration of Ghent with the Great Castle then perhaps enjoy a lunch at in one of the many nearby cafes in the square. Later this afternoon we suggest an easy 35 minute train ride to Brussels to explore The Grand Place. First time visitors will want to take an optional sightseeing tour. In Brussels, don t miss a wonderful meal of fish or mussels at Chez Leon, conveniently just around the corner from Brussels most famous beer café: Delirium! Or further explore Brussels; with its brand new Magritte Museum, superb Contemporary art museum, Auto Museum and even a Museum of Comic Strips (invented in Belgium). Perhaps you ll have a pint and enjoy lunch in the nearby Petit Sablon an area well known for its antique shops and great beer cafes, all serving great food and abbey cheeses. Independent return by train to Ghent and tram back to your hotel.

July Sun 04 THE HOPE LUTHERAN FREE DAY to INDEPENDENTLY EXPLORE GHENT, BRUGES or ANTWERP Today you have many options! You may continue to explore Ghent, return to Brussels to continue exploring the wonderful sights, museums and cafes, or you might decide to train to Brugges Venice of the North to tour the famous canals and 16th century shops and houses and De Halve Maan brewery brewer of Brugse Triple Belgian ale. Should you choose Brugges, you ll be happy to know that its a convenient 35 minute train ride away! Just a few of your independent options in Brugges are to take a canal sightseeing cruise, Visit Choco Story, The Chocolate Museum, shop for Belgain hand made lace and linens, luxurious Belgian Chocolates or taking Tea at The Kempinski Duke s Palace hotel! AFTERNOON TEA in BRUGES at THE DUKES PALACE Kempinski Hotel Dukes' Palace introduces this delightful British tradition in a very unique way. Wooden floors, comfortable sofa's, large windows overlooking the large private garden and a relaxing atmosphere make the Lobby Lounge the perfect place to discover the pleasure of High Tea. Duke s Palace High Tea consists of mouth-watering selection of exquisite sandwiches with a variety of home-made delicate pastries, muffins... and chocolates. As Bruges is the chocolate capital of the world, our Maître Chocolatier and Ronnefeldt Tea Master created the exclusive and unique tea and chocolate fusion for Kempinski Hotel Dukes' Palace. Following the ethos of tea serving, a variety of the distinct Ronnefeldt blends tea is brewed by our Tea Specialist, using the beautiful Samovar in the lounge and is served in legendary Jade China-bone Rosenthal porcelain. High Tea is served daily from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at a very reasonable EUR 12,50. Rumor has it that the Dukes Palace also has an amazing Spa

Sun 04 FREE DAY to INDEPENDENTLY EXPLORE GHENT, BRUGES or ANTWERP, continued 'The adoration of the Mystic Lamb' Should you opt to continue to explore Ghent, you ll want to visit St Bavos Cathedral to enjoy this quite impressive painting by the Van Eyck Brothers! The brothers painted this unique altarpiece in 1432. It is the highlight of the Flemish Primitives and a milestone in art history. The Polyptych fell into French hands under Napoleon and was requisitioned by Nazi Germany during the Second World War. But it has now been hanging peacefully for more than 50 years in the place where it belongs: St. Bavo s Cathedral. July Mon 05 BELGIAN BREWERIES TOUR or FREE DAY to EXPLORE GHENT, BRUGGES or ANTWERP Today you may choose between joining an all day coach tour to visit 3 of Belgium s top Abbey & Trappist breweries; St Bernardus; Westvletern & Duvel or independently travel by train to Brugges, Brussels or Antwerp tour to explore one of those fascinating cities.
