NCO Information and Audition Requirements Introduction: Thank you for your interest in the Nashville Collegiate Orchestra! The group will rehearse on Sunday evenings from 6:30 8:45pm starting Sunday, May 28 th. Location to be sent out upon acceptance. Tentative concert date will be either July 30 th or August 6 th. Location TBD. The application and membership fee for members is $20 due at the beginning of the first rehearsal. This may be paid with cash, Visa, or MasterCard. This membership fee helps cover the costs of purchasing music, renting equipment, booking the concert venue, printing programs, etc. Who Can Audition? Auditions are open to any collegiate students residing in Middle TN for the summer as well as recent college alumni. Alumni who have completed their undergraduate degrees no more than six years ago are welcome to audition. Proof of current enrollment or graduation may be requested if you are selected. Exception for strings, see below under String/Keyboard/Percussion." The audition video must be unaltered and unspliced. These may be submitted for review using YouTube (recommended) or emailed directly as.mp4 or.mov files. If you use YouTube, make your video unlisted so that you can share the
link with just us. Please email the file or link to the video to nco@eliassalazar.com by Sunday, May 14 th at noon. Entries submitted after this date may be placed on a waiting list for future openings. Choose at least TWO excerpts from the list below to perform in the video unaccompanied, and please do not announce excerpts or otherwise talk on your audition recording. Applicants may also choose to play the listed solo instead of or in addition to the excerpts. In your audition email, provide your name, instrument, phone number, university, and whether you are an undergraduate, graduate, or alum. Strings/Keyboard/Percussion: String, keyboard, and percussion players do not need to audition for this season, but we require that interested musicians contact us at nco@eliassalazar.com providing your name, university, instrument, and how long you have been playing your instrument by no later than May 7 th, 2017.
