Reliability and long service life are the most important features for elevator encoders. Lika has a comprehensive range of incremental encoders for this specific application and counts on more than 15 years of experience worldwide in the elevator industry. Shaft encoders like the well known green I58 can be installed by means of a mounting bell and, while the popular C80 and C81 series of hollow shaft encoders can be installed directly onto the shaft saving space and mechanical adaptations. Lika s UNIVERSAL CIRCUIT allows all users to have always the right encoder for the right elevator drive interface.

The start-up of these compact s without gearbox requires to know the position of rotor and stator precisely. Lika has developed a new range of products for this demand featuring both incremental signals for speed feedback and an absolute signal to determine the position of the poles. Incremental encoders CB59 and CB60 with sine-cosine output and additional absolute track are available with hollow and solid shaft. When an elevator drive requires digital pulses and UVW encoder signals, IB59 is the most compact solution currently on the market. Absolute encoders of the HS and HSC series have non-proprietary interfaces such as SSI+sin/cos or BiSS. Resolutions up to 18 bit (262144 counts per rev) allow very accurate detection of the rotor/stator position.

CANopen, CANlift, SSI, BiSS and incremental interfaces allow direct connection to all kind of elevator controllers. DRAW-WIRE units can be easily installed to measure cabin or platform positions on freight lifts, mobile platforms and scissor lifts. Small ranges up to 6,8 meters can be covered with the SF-I series while SAK and SBK are suitable for ranges up to 50 meters.
Cabin position measurement systems SMAL Absolute position measurement Resolution 1 mm CANopen (DS406) CANlift (DSP417) SSI RS485 Direct measurement on the lift cabin SMAL2 Incremental or quasi-absolute position measurement Resolution up to 0,1 mm CANopen (DS406) CANlift (DSP417) SSI RS485 Push-Pull / Line Driver Direct measurement on the lift cabin The SMAL series of magnetic measurement systems has been designed for demanding elevator cabin positioning applications. With a measuring length up to 500 m and resolution of 1 mm, the SMAL is suitable not only for new installations but also for retrofits on existing elevators. The complete system consists of only two components, a sensor and a coded magnetic tape. A fixing kit is available to mount the tape directly on the guides of the elevator cabin. The measuring principle in contactless. The tape is guided by the sensor body in order to keep it always aligned to the sensor. The SMAL can be supplied with several interfaces such as CANopen (DS406), CANlift (DS417), SSI and RS485 for direct connection to all common elevator controllers.
