Description 3G-SDI (3G Serial Digital Interface) recently has become increasingly popular in the application of video and audio transmission system. However, the traditional copper wire cable imposes limits on signal transmission distance and signal quality. Optical fiber delivers low dispersion, longer distance and better signal transmission quality in comparison to the traditional copper wire cable. APAC AS-FD-20K-1LC extender uses only single fiber to fulfill long distance communication, where radio frequency interference phenomenon is literally ruled out, which shows the advantage of high performance and good signal quality as well as low cost extension. Installation Step1. Install TX module close to 3G-SDI signal source, such as 3G-SDI Camera or video source. Step2. Install RX module close to 3G-SDI sink, such as 3G-SDI Display or DVR. Step3. Connect 3G-SDI BNC cable from Source to TX module and RX module to Sink. Step4. Connect LC optical fiber cable from TX module to RX module. Step5. Apply 5V adaptor to TX/RX modules. Note 1: Clean fiber connector before plugging in. The dust will impact communication performance. Note 2: Maintain a good 3G-SDI signal, it is recommended to use BELDEN 1694A cable, and BNC male connector must follow up 3G-SDI specifications. Page 4 of 5
