ENG206: Literary Analysis and Composition II Course Overview Course Length Materials Prerequisites Course Outline COURSE OVERVIEW Students are able to gain credit if they have previously completed this course but did not successfully earn credit. For each unit, students take a diagnostic test that assesses their current knowledge of fundamental content. The results of these tests help students create individualized study plans. In this course, students read classic and modern works of literature, sharpening their reading comprehension skills and analyzing important human issues. They review effective strategies for oral and written expression, grammar, usage, and mechanics. Thematic units focus on word roots, suffixes and prefixes, context clues, and other strategies that help students strengthen their vocabularies. COURSE LENGTH Two semesters MATERIALS Explorations: An Anthology of Literature, Volume B; The Miracle Worker, by William Gibson NOTE: List subject to change PREREQUISITES Student completed the course or its equivalent, but did not receive credit; teacher/school counselor recommendation required NOTE: Students who have taken K¹² Intermediate English A or B or K¹² middle school Literary Analysis and Composition courses should not enroll in this course.
