The new Main Station serves as a through station, with high-efficiency north-south and east-west connections, making Vienna the most important hub for regional, national, and international transport and a central junction in the trans-european rail network. With its new Main Station, Vienna is strengthening its position in the heart of Europe. The new modern station is a calling card for Vienna as a center of tourism and a business location. The eye-catching visual feature of the new station is the folded, diamond-shaped roof, which extends over five platforms with ten railway tracks.
