Objectives This workstream is just one pillar of the Participant Engagement Plan (Section 8) for IDT first published in September 2011 and available at www.sem-o.com The objective of this workstream is to inform Participants about: The outage window of the Central Market Systems to implement the IDT system changes (SEMO). Operational / Technical considerations for the weekend of deployment including: Timeline of activities (e.g. system cutover and operational arrangements); Data implications; Support arrangements available to Participants in the run up to, during and after cutover; Submission options for COD, TOD. 3

Intended Audience Participant representatives IT Technical & Functional: system / data cutover to IDT Traders: Operational cutover and timeline for bidding Transmission System Operators IT Technical & Functional: Submission on key market data for MSP Runs (e.g. Load Forecast, Wind Forecast etc.) Interconnector Administrator IT Technical & Functional: Submission and retrieval of key Interconnector related Trading Data for Moyle and EWIC (e.g. Capacity Holdings, ATC, MIUNs etc.) 4

Why a Cutover Workstream? IDT will introduce significant change to the CMS from both a technical and functional perspective. Cutover arrangements will require close Participant engagement in the following areas Systems transition (i.e. rollout of new software requiring engagement from Participant IT personnel) Transition from the current operational model to IDT (requiring Participant business engagement) SEMO recommends that Participants nominate a single representative within their organisation to act as the main point of contact for cutover activities.. 5

SEM 2.0.0 Project Timeline 6

SEM 2.0.0 Project Timeline The SEM R2.0.0 (IDT) project remains on schedule across all work-streams. Deployment of IDT changes to the CMS is overnight Friday 20 th July 2012. Participants need to make important decisions based on the information provided at this workshop, e.g. If a Participant decides to bid in advance to cover EA1 for the weekend / Monday 23 rd and cutover their systems the following Monday they may be reducing Trading opportunities for EA2 and WD1 Market windows in the intervening period. 7

Outage Required - Summary IDT introduces a significant change to the SEM: All new infrastructure and environments (200+ servers) Upgrades to Operating systems Database migration from MS Windows to Linux platforms Third Party Software changes CMS Application Suite to deliver significant new functionality across the new platforms. IDT requires a longer outage than normal to cater for the scale and complexity of the deployment. 8

Outage Required - Summary SEMO has trialled cutover a number of times to determine an appropriate cutover procedure and outage window which: Is optimal (i.e. minimises downtime to the SEM); Mitigates operational risk; and Provides support to our Participants and Stakeholders. Tests have demonstrated that an outage window of 18 hours is required. Operational processes will be amended to support the release window Outage window: 14:00 on July 20 th to 08:00 on July 21 st. More details in the following slides. 9
