GPON installation in high rise buildings via Fiber Tree system In this document we would like to demonstrate a GPON application and installation example on a high rise building by using Canovate fiber tree system. Polat Tower is a commercial &residential complex of 40 floors, and on each floor we have 8 customers. Thus there is appx 320 FTTH subscribers in this building. Fibertree solution has been chosen as preferred solution due to its advantages in terms of reduced installation time, ease of installation and minimized amount of fiber cable&accessories. Fibertree Advantages Less riser cables and termination boxes (lower CAPEX) Faster installation time Lower installation cost Ease of installation Ease of maintenance Ideal for narrow and densely populated shafts

Basement 1U 24 Port Feeder Patch Panel OLT Device 2U 48 Port Distribution ODF 2U 5x Module We have a 12U wallmount rack at the main telecom room on the basement of the building. The incoming outdoor fiber cable of 24 core is spliced via a 24 port feeder patcpanel and connected to the OLT device to provide GPON fiber connectivity in this tower. We use a 2U Splitter Module with 5 pieces of 1:8 SC/UPC splitters to provide connectivity for each 40 floors (5x 8). The interconnection between these splitters and the special flexible 48 core fiber tree cable is done by the 2U 48 port customer distribution ODF. 1U 24 Port Feeder Patch Panel OLT 2U 5x Module Patchcord Patchcord Patchcord Outdoor Feeder Cable 2U 72 Port Distribution ODF Patchcord 48 Core Fiber Tree Cable
Shaft of the Building Cable Protection Tube on the Shaft ODB Box ODB Box Drop Cable 48 Core (12x4) Fiber Tree Cable 48 core fiber tree cable is installed alongside the entire shaft of the tower. On each 40 floors we installed a brancing kit on the shaft. We made a small cut on the 48 (12x4) core fiber tree cable and take a single core on each floor. This single core is protected inside the brancing kit, pulled out and directed via a cable protection tube to the 1:8 SC/PC Splitter ODB box, which is placed on the shaft. Thus we can provide connectivity for up to 8 subscribers on each floor from a single fiber core. ODB Box Drop Cable 48 Core Fiber Tree Cable

GPON installation in low rise buildings via Fiber Tree system In this document we would like to demonstrate a GPON application and installation example on a low rise building by using Canovate fiber tree system. This building is a residential complex of 8 floors, and on each floor we have 2 customers. Thus there is 16 FTTH subscribers in this building. Fibertree solution has been chosen as preferred solution due to its advantages in terms of reduced installation time, ease of installation and minimized amount of fiber cable&accessories.
