REFERENCE WORKS Reference works, such as dictionaries, maps, atlas, and encyclopedias are only for local query and therefore cannot be loaned for the same period of a book. RENEWALS There is no limit for renewal, unless: The material has reservation(s) from another user(s); The user has overdue materials; The user has already the maximum days of borrows; The user's registration has expired. The user has any debit at the library. The online renewal must be done through the P@rthenon base: http://www.parthenon.biblioteca.unesp.br/ and the time limit is given by the end of the loan. The standard loans may be renewed until 9:45pm. It's important to remember that reserved books cannot be renewed.

To make a reservation, it is required that all copies of the work are loaned, except for the sample book. Books available on the shelves cannot be reserved. DELAYS, FINES AND WARNINGS It will be charged a fine of 20% of a UFESP (Fiscal Unit of the State of São Paulo). For charging purposes, it will be considered the opening hours of the library. The users allowed to access the database through VPN are: teachers/professors, undergraduate students, graduate students (regular and special) and technical administrative staff. UNESP Wi-Fi (WFU): wireless Internet access inside the campus. The user has to make the necessary settings on his equipment and use the login and password authentication. It can be used through the: a) Academic System for undergraduate students; b) UNESP Portal System for graduate students; c) Online HR System for employees and professors. Research Room: There is a separated room for Internet access with 10 computers for scientific research purposes.

Each user can borrow one netbook for a period of five hours with renewal carried out at the counter. Netbooks are for exclusive use inside the Library. LOOKING FOR A BOOK The material search at the Library consists of two steps: the online search and search on the bookshelf. To assist you in this process, read the following guide. 1) Online system search Search for the book on the P@rthenon base, write down the location number (call number) and then follow the steps below: When you open the P@rthenon base, click on Busca por Biblioteca (Search for Library)

Select Guaratinguetá Faculdade de Engenharia:

Type the author, title, subject, etc. Click on Buscar (Search)

Click on Kind of material (Tipo de material) Click on locais (Places) Then click the + botton Verify whether the book is available, otherwise make a reservation.

This is the number on the shelf that should be written down. 2) Search on the Bookshelf Go to the bookshelf and search for the rank number (representing the subject), arranged in ascending numerical order. After finding the number, look for the 1st letter of the author's last name in alphabetical order and then the author's number in ascending numerical order. Ranking of the books on the bookshelves Assunto = Subject 1ª letra do título do livro = First letter of the book's title número do autor = Author's number 1ª letra do sobrenome do autor = First letter of the author's name

Order of books on the shelves:

Lockers It is not allowed to enter the library with backpacks, handbags, briefcases, books and food, which should be put in the lockers, whose keys are loaned to users for a period of five hours, which can be renewed.
