The Muse News from the PNGHS Music Department November 2017 Recording Scholarship In a new collaboration with the Creative Sounds Society (The Stomach), PNGHS and CSS offered a recording studio scholarship to emerging musicians in Y9, 10 and 11 this year. Congratulations to Alyssa Toland (Y10) who will record three solo songs using voice/guitar. She goes into the studio in the next few weeks and is due to complete her project by mid-december. We look forward to hearing the mastered tracks and sharing them with other music students. The occasion was also an opportunity to publically acknowledge the work of our 2017 music leaders, Danielle, Amy O, Shannen, Riley, Marian and Amy S. Come in and Stay Awhile Cantatrices and the OK Chorale performed their first public concert together, presenting a wide-ranging programme to a very large and appreciative public audience at St Peter s Church. The choirs each sang two brackets of songs individually and combined at both the start and the end of the concert for four numbers. The concert was put together at short notice with the choirs having only three rehearsals together prior to the event. Thanks to Mrs Smith, Miss Joe and Mr Young for their hard work in ensuring such a successful collaboration.
