There will be a few slight changes frm last year, s please make sure that yu read this entire letter. Sr. Delaware All-State Chrus Auditin Requirements 2016-2017 Please read requirements thrughly as there have been sme changes! There will be three sectins fr the auditin Quartet, Sight Reading and Scales. 1.Quartet Shenandah Setting: Le Nestr SATB Auditin excerpt is attached at the end f this letter and we have permissin t phtcpy as this piece is in prepublicatin. All cpies must be destryed after the festival. Auditin will begin at pick up t Measure 29 thrugh dwnbeat f Measure 57. Singers will hld the dwnbeat f Measure 57 fr a whle nte. Students will sing their auditined part with a CD cntaining the vcal parts excluding the auditined part. T clarify, if a student is auditining fr Bass 2, they shuld sing the Bass 2 part when it splits fr the auditin. Tracks fr the auditin will be available by the end f September. Students will be assessed n: Tne 10 pints Pitch Accuracy 10 pints Rhythmic Accuracy 10 pints Dynamics 10 pints Phrasing 10 pints Dictin 10 pints 2. Sight Reading Sight reading will be 6 measures in length, will start and end n D with n accidentals and n mre than a third skip. Sight reading will be in either the key f C, F r G Majr. Students may have 2 attempts at the sight reading and receive a ttal f 6 pints 3 pints fr Rhythmic Accuracy and 3 pints fr Pitch Accuracy. The highest scre is the ne that will be taken. Students may use slfege, numbers r a neutral syllable. 3. Scales (all scales are majr) Keys are as fllws and will be sung ascending and descending in the same key: Spran I A Spran II F Alt I E Alt II A (starting belw middle C) Tenr I F Tenr II D Bass I A Bass II F Students will hear a track that will cntain the I-IV-V-I chrd prgressin, starting pitch, and a 4-beat click t establish temp. The exact track alng with expected rhythm f each scale will be available by the end f September. Students will sing the scales a capella using slfeggi, r a neutral syllable, and are expected t perfrm the crrect rhythm in the established temp.
